    Default Which brand CAI?

I'm currently looking for a cold air intake for my 05 and was wonderinf if there is any real difference between injen AEM K&N or it think its Fujita?

If anyone has any preference it would be appriciated before i go to buy and install one of these

also does this seem like the right price for an AEM? i though they were good?

They are all really the same. I have heard that 2 people comment about fitment on a Fujita. That could have been installer error. My son has an Injen. It sits a little tight against the fender with the filter getting rubbed by the fender flange. I also found burrs inside the piping where the crankcase ventilation tube connects.

$260 is about right. When I was lookin for mine, The prices ranged from 240-300 I think. CAI is a CAI is a CAI. Just don't buy ebay brand i.e. Tsudo, or Apex, or anything that ends in N1.

I had a couple of people in my crew that were complaining about fitment with the Fujita also but I had no issues with mine so I'd agree it was probably installer error and the 4 guys and girls that started out with the Injen have since swapped over the the Fujita because of the burs and filter rub also. the 2 I have seen that have the best it and quality have been the AEM and the Fujita (but then I am a lil biased, I love my Fujita)

    Cool who care!!

tell yall the truth... go on ebay buy a 40 dollor short ram intake like i did if you like the cai then buy it for the same price... but i would stay away from the cai from ebay due to water might suck up into ur engine.. but i bought a 40 dollor short ram intake damnn sound sooo much badder then other one sound like i have a turbo LOL. this guy who want to race me on the highway we race and he was like (damn your car fast i love your turbo it super loud) i was like uh thx? =] i have no mod beside sri. but the gain everything they claim to get 10hp all bs. why waste 150+ when you can buy one for 40 same thing. quality is GREAT too. fitment perfect.

CLICK THIS MY CAR check out the photo.

intake would be the only thing i would buy for performance on ebay... anything else better look somewhere else.

edit: yea it does have a thin wall. that right =] but what the different with the thin wall or thick? it ganna be the same as long the air get into your engine...... that my 2cent tho. ehhehe i respect what ever yall think but that me. my smart way out.

that thin wall that you don't care about defeats the purpose of having a CAI because it lets the engine bay heat warm up the air in the intake piping much faster than the thick walled ones do (cooler air means denser A/F mix, better burn, more power and more efficient use of fuel). also the cheaper ones you get on eBay are just that, cheaper because they are lower quality in materials and finish (burs, filter and such). also part of the cost of the better quality CAI is the bypass that keeps you from sucking water into the engine

edit: so which statement is b.s.? here in this thread where you claim to have raced a guy on the highway or the one in your classified ad for your saying it has never been raced?

All right guys, keep the peace. Thin walled tubing generally can fail from stress cracks caused by engine vibrations. You can also easily put dents in it. Your E-Bay unit might be of quality tubing or not. That is the problem with E-Bay. You never know what the quality of the product is going to be.
