    Default 160 degree thermostat

Hey I just recently installed an aftermarket thermostat and the engine worked fine for a couple days. Even now there is no real problem in terms of performance. However, I've noticed a check engine light. I've done no other recent work to the engine yet. So if anyone out there knows if the thermostat could be what's causing it and/or the detrimental effects of running your engine too cool, let me know.

Sorry for the delay. Things have been dead around here. Recession I guess.

Anyway, is your temp gauge reading normal? You could be possibly over temping. Have AutoZone run their scan tool on your car and see what the DTC is. We can go from there.

I took it to autozone and it said that it's below regulating temperature, which is what I thought. So if that's all that it is, I'm sure there won't be a problem.

Did you happen to catch the DTC number? The TRD tune that I have with my TRD S/C must temperature compensated for the lower temp thermostat in the kit. I currently have a 160F unit and no codes.
