Default Intake From an 06 in an 08?

My friend is trading in his tC and is willing to trade me his CAI, Headers, and Exhaust for my stock parts. His car is an 06 and mine is an 08 which makes me wonder about the MAF sensor. Is this swap going to be a simple task, will it work at all?

It may be possible for you, but it wasn't for me. I own an 07 and was sold a used 06 Weapon-R intake. I had to buy an adapter plate for the MAF sensor. Maybe I did something wrong, but I couldn't get the adapter to seat correctly. This led to a vacuum leak which really hurt my performance. Now, when I decide to do some more upgrades, I will save up and get an 07 Weapon-R intake. If nothing else, sell his CAI and put that money towards a new one....

I wish I could but part of the deal is me giving him the OEM equipment....o well...at least the exhaust should line up.

Oh, somehow I missed that. I don't advise doing the swap with the CAI. It's going to take some work on both ends to get everything right. But the exhaust should work well.

your intakes wont fit on each other's cars.. it's one thing to make his aftermarket CAI work on your car.. but alot more to make your stock intake work on his car..

too much effort involved.. and no, you can't just switch out MAF sensors either.
    LEDs.... yay!

True. The MAF sensors are different because the '07-up Scions are CAN/OBDII Federally compliant. The '05-'06 models are OBDII hybrids with only a partial CAN network. The ECM's are slightly different, a small amount of wiring, the MAF, and the DL3 connector. Pins 6 and 14 on the DL3 (OBDII port) are not populated thusly non of the OBDII displays work on these 2 year models.
