Yeah return it. As far as I know, noone has cracked the Scion tC's ECM yet. That chip is worthless and will do nothing to improve performance. It may even hurt it... Sorry homie.

Right now you're driving with something unplugged from your engine. You have a "chip" plugged in that is doing nothing. Whatever you unplugged in the first place, was put there by Toyota for a reason.

The point is that your chip is not helping performance in way. I'm guessing you found it on ebay for $8.99.

And no, it will not work on a benz, or any other car. Some cars, like a Civic, can have performance chips plugged into them and hp gains have been proven. But those chips will only work for the car it was specifically designed for.

NOOOOOO. Stay away from eBay now. Return the "chip" if you can immediately. I bought one of those for my saturn (when I had it). It's suppose to give you 25+ HP and increased gas mileage, right? Wrong. It makes the car run poor and throws a CEL.

CEL - Check Engine Light which means there is a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) that has been set by the ECM.

Note: Toyota calls their DTC indicator MIL which stands for Malfunction Indicator Lamp.
