I got my tc a few months ago and i want to add a turbo charger. Looking at the turbonetics kit. I am wondering if i should look at replacing any of the stock internals or will they hold up just fine.

"You definately have to install an engine management system. You have to adjust for the fuel/air ratio and timing. You have a recipe for engine detonation right now."

I have been looking at the GReddy Turbo kit, it seems to be the best deal. Anyone know of a good place in central or southern CA to get one installed?

God dayum!! Sweet stuff man. It's like, the only thing left to put there is a tower brace! I always complained about the empty engine bay, but whoa . . nice.

One crazy arse manifold. An attempt at equal length runners? Straighter the runners the better for flow. Any turbo kit that you purchase should come with a pre-tuned e-manage and larger injectors. If it doesn't, then don't purchase as you will kill your engine. Turbo setups are very intricate and very demanding on an engine. The more control that you have over the turbo, boost, fuel, etc the longer your engine will last. Superchargers are way easier. Not as efficient as a turbo, mind you, but a whole lot nicer to the engine. It does not require all the fine tuning needed as in a turbo.

So the moral here is that unless you are a pro, do-it-yourself turbo kits and ones sold with out pre-programmed e-manage and larger injectors is bad.

GReddy turbo kit does not come with Emanage, you have to buy it seperately. It also doesn't come with Injectors. It comes with basic, pretty much, Turbo, Intercooler, Piping, and some other bits. So the GReddy will cost a lot more than what you expect. If you want a good kit, go with ZPI Stage 0, or treadstone, dezod, or Turbotoyotas. Treadstone is a good starter turbo. comes with injectors, all you need is emanage, and harness for that turbo kit. But keep in mind you are going to spend a lot more than what you expect. Turbo Kit, Clutch + Flywheel, Emanage + Harness, Installation of turbo kit (if you don't want to do it), Gauges, and Tune, and maybe a lot more others. So you're looking at $5000+, you're better off getting a Used Evo VIII, that's why i'm thinking about doing. Get a job, save up, and trade in my tC.
