Default Added blower lost top speed..HELP!!

I have an 07 tc with a trd blower on and a Weapon R short ram.. the car is a perfect daily driver and has pretty good power... my only problem is this:

I was on the freeway a few weeks after installing the blower, wide open road, no cars at the time of the day so i decided to do a freeway pull... at 108 mph, the fuel cut off and no more acceleration.... tried it again, same thing..tried it again and again, same thing... how can i get rid of that limiter??

The ECM fuel cut kicks in around 127 mph. If you are still building speed when it activates you can coast up a few more MPH than that number. 108 MPH is not a known fuel cut, though the ECM maybe enacting prematurely due to a sensor error or on purpose due to unsafe engine operation (detonation). How does your car pull at other speeds?

Is your car manual or auto? The auto trans is ECU controlled so it might be preventing overdrive. This might put your RPMs at the rev limiter if the auto cannot engage overdrive. Check your trans fluid level as your torque converter might not be able to lock-up for the 1:1 ratio with the overdrive.

On a more humorous side..... If you are driving a manual you may be hitting the rev limiter at 108MPH in 4th. You might want to shift up to 5th gear. Sorry, it was too funny to pass up.

Being that the Dealership installed the TRD, everything is covered with the cars Powertrain Warranty so I would take it back to them and get them to fix it. Unless they were the ones that installed the WR, you will need the TRD moddified OEM airbox back on the car when you take it in. Suggest that you do a high speed run with it back on anyway to see if the problem resolves. Putting moddified SRI on a TRD S/C has been known to lean out the motor and cause some issues.

ha ha ha! yes i am shifting to 5th gear ;-)

it is a manual. i am going to try what you said.. this weekend, i will put the factory trd air box back on the car and see if the issue resolves... if it does, then the trd intake will stay on, if it does not, then i will take it to the dealership and have them do diagnostics on it. if i am getting detonation or if there is a bad sensor.. wouldn't it throw a code? One last thing i forgot to mention, i did replace my bpv with a bosch bpv at the time the sri was added. thanks for your input.

Go back to stock (TRD) with everything, check, then replace one component at a time with your aftermarket units. I am going to assume that your car runs normally under all other conditions as you made no reference to other issues. Check all of your intake hose connections and vacuum lines. Codes are only set when there is an error or out-of-range condition.

More about that can be found here, http://www.club-tc.com/forums/tc-kno...cause-mil.html

Check your Bosch BPV for proper operation. I would not think a stuck open BPV would cause the fuel cut to kick in, but you never know with these high-tech motor controls. Tell you what. How would you like to get ride of that plastic piece of junk? I happen to have a TurboXS BPV that I previously used on my car. It is in excellent condition and special black metal flake powder coated by myself. This is a pic of how it comes. I will have to shoot one of the PC job.
