    Default radiator hoses help needed!

So I bought these samco sylicone racing hoses for my tc and was about to put them on then my friend said u might need special clamps for these sence some clamps will cut the sylicone hoses does any one know if it will? Or am I safe to use the stock ones there are no directions with this set I bought so they don't list a need for special clamps

I have never heard anyone saying that special hose clamps are needed. If they OEM ones don't work, you can buy some clamps from the autoparts store, you can try the ones that tighten/untighten w/ a screw and have notches. Since your doing hoses, have you bought and added a bottle of Redline Water Wetter to your radiator? I bought a bottle for my tC and its been in a week now and I have seen a drop in my engine/water temps. I enquired w/ NavyLife on this and he even said its an awesome product and works well. One bottle should do the job, if your doing mostly racing then two bottles would be needed.

My dad said that the worm drive or worm gear clamp would cut thru silicone but he does not know about the stock spring clamps I haven't read anything about that so I'm still on the border about this

I would call the company that makes your hoses and ask them or send Navy an email. It would be interesting to findout, I am considering upgrading my hoses as well.

Mikemann's Dad is correct about worm gear clamps damaging silicon hoses. Silicon hoses are softer than OEM rubber hoses. A worm gear clamp that is tightened too much actually "bites" into the rubber that actually cuts an impression of the slots of the worm gear band into the rubber. The softer silicon would be more easily damaged. T-bolt clamps like the ones used on high powered turbo I/C piping.
