Injen or AEM are the trusted ones. Many run the Weapon R with great satisfaction.

^ I agree w/ Navy, I have an AEM CAI and its awesome, no issues either. I would becareful with Fujita, they tend to throw CEL's. With any CAI, your paying for a name, they are all mostly the same. Your diameters are going to be 2.50'' to 3.00'', mandrel bent, made from aircraft aluminum and some color/finish options. The other difference is K&N that uses an oil treated filter, when it gets dirty you'll need to remove it, clean it, let dry for 24-48hrs then reoil it, over oiling can cause issues w/ your MAF sensor.

If you have future plans of going F/I (Supercharged/Turbo), buy a SRI. If you plan on staying N/A, buy a full function CAI.

Those are great choices as well! Injen has been the customer favorite on our end. Let me know if you ever need more product advice.

I don't believe there is such a thing as ram air intakes on our tC's. There are functional hoods that allow air to come in and heat to escape. Do you have a picture or link of this ram air intake?

intake and exhaust-nas-nola-carshow-2009-026.jpgIf I ever get around to boxing in my air filter, mine would be a RAM air fed by a NACA duct.

Weapon-R actually has a Ram-Air extension hose that fits to the end of the intake, I think that's what he's talking about.

It actually works pretty decent Vinny, if that's the setup you are going for. Ram air as a concept works, but I'm not sure if you'll see gains from regular daily driving on a NA TC.

I wasn't aware of this, so I learned something today. I have an AEM CAI on my 2006 Scion tC and love it. I have never had any CEL's come on or hydro-locked.

Still, the WR extension leaves you with find a place to mount the end of the tube to accept fresh air. Still not technically a true RAM air effect.

A guy in my Squadron said that his tC hydrolocked, snapping a rod, because of his CAI. When I asked him about it, he divulged that he drove into some deep water. That is not an obstacle in everyday driving and he should have not driven thru deep water like that. If you live in places with deep water, be sure to install the intake portion of your RAM or CAI above the normal water line.

I am moving this thread to a more appropriate section for further discussion.
