New Exhaust

Ok so I just got a Tsudo N1 catback exhaust and it is unbelievable. It comes with 2.5" piping, a 13" resinator, and a 4.5" tip. The sound is unbelievable and the horsepower increase is noticeable. If anyone is in the market for a new exhaust, I strongly recommend this one. I will be posting a sound clip on you tube very shortly!

well, the car comes factory with 2.5" piping, so im not sure if you actually got a significant HP gain, but i bet it sounds nice

it may be the same size piping but i bet anythin that it has improved airflow

well only way to really know is to dyno, i was suprised when i first looked under my tc to see the thick piping, im used to hondas dinky little exhaust pipes?

Wouldn't want to go over 2.5" exhaust on N/A or mild boosted engine. Your lower end torque curve would go to crap.

Well maybe you guys lucked out with your TC's, but my came with 2" piping, so opening it up to 2.5" has made a difference. But it sounds awesome. I have recieved so many compliments on it! Question though, not sure if there has been any changes to the heat flashing under the gas tank, but since I have put the exhaust on, when idling and when the fan kicks on, the piping vibrates a little on the flashing. I tried bending it up a little to give the piping a little more room, but that has not seemed to help. It only happens for like a second, but it is annoying enough for me to do something about it. I don't want to remove the flashing cause we all know that is not the greatest idea, but any suggestions? I am not sure if I get longer hangers if this will resolve the problem or not.

Sounds like your muffler shop goofed. Take it back and have them fix it. I had duals put on my '83 Merc Capri. The muffler shop stole my California Turbos, broke a break line, and burned a hole in my fuel return line. Idiots!

The "heat flashing" is the metalized shielding to protect the gas tank from direct radiated heat from the exhaust. Remove it and you could go boom one day.

Yeah... boom=bad. But if you paid money for them to do work to your car, and they ****ed up, it's their job to fix it. And if they want your business back and not to be bad mouthed... they'll do it. I'd pick a day that I could kinda hang around and check on it to take it back though.

On a cat back exhaust, the piping starts from the catalatic converter and runs all the way to the back of the car. On an axle back exhaust it starts from the rear axle and runs back. The pipe between the axle and the catalatic converter is called the mid pipe. And a muffler is just that. There is no piping and you have to get is welded on to the stock piping. Now when you put a cat back exhaust on your car, you are increasing the size of the pipe, which means you are allowing more air to be released form the engine which creates more horse power. Any other exhaust that you put on like and axle back or muffler is really just for sound and looks!

Actually, its 2.25". You only need 3" or larger for high exhaust pressure apps like Turbo or high compression S/C engines. 2.5" is perfect for N/A or TRD S/C.

but what if you increase the amount of psi on your TRD S/C?
does that mean you need a wider piping for the tC?

Maybe if your pushing over 15PSI. S/C's don't creat the exhaust pressure waves that a turbo does. A turbo is driven by exhaust energy. A more freely flowing exhaust will provide more energy potential for a turbo, not a S/C. I will be going from 9 to 14.5PSI with my TRD very soon on 2.5" pipe. I will let ya know how it goes.

So axle backs don't give u any hp gain.? So if ur lookin for more hp and sound go with a cat back.? Makes sense. Is the warranty still good with a cat back do u know?

i think as long as it's not problem to why your car is messed up, then it shouldn't
void the warrenty
