    Default CAI over protection....

ok so i just had a injen CAI installed by my buddy and after the slight hickup or putting the second pipe in backwards lol its in and working well. now is there anything i can do really to prevent hydro locking besides turning it into a SRI? i know its up in the wheel well and its gonna be hard for rain and stuff to get up in there but i was just curious is there is anything i can do? rite now it seems the only way water is gonna get in it is threw my lower front grill which ill need drive threw a river or something lol. im just being over worried about it. I know rain is fine and i tried to postion the filter as high as i could but still just looking for some other protection

You can buy an Air-Bypass Valve or an Air Filter Wrap. I personally wouldn't let having a CAI bother you. I've had my AEM for 3 yrs now and I have never sucked in any water. As long as you refrain from driving through deep water you'll be fine. Another thing to keep in mind is making sure your inner fenders aren't cracked or have holes in them to allow water and moisture to enter. Most roads and highways are designed so the water recedes off to the sides, so in most cases the puddles will be on the passenger-side of the vehicle.

I'm also hearing a little like clang when I turn my car on is that normal? I know the fit is very tight. Is it hitting that little wall it fits threw when I turn my car on or is that an issue? Everything is super tight

Your getting some engine flex when you fire it up and the piping on the intake is hitting another metal surface. You can wrap that piece in some strong rubber or plastic, it may help or eliminate the clanging sound.

Self sticking silicone tape would would great as a bumper in this application. You can get it at the local Home Depot.
