Thumbs up New Modifications Arrived and Installed (9/24/2011)

I got home from work last night around 5pm and found a package on my front porch from C12 Carbon Components. I open it up and it was the carbon fiber engine fuse box cover I ordered. I inspected the cover on both sides and the quality was great, no cracks, discoloration, or yellowing. C12 also provided some 3m double-sided tape, which was very nice of them. I should be seeing the carbon fiber gauge cluster very soon as well, as soon as these are installed I will upload some pictures.

Here's a couple pictures I took of the fuse box cover when I took it out of the package:

I paid a total of $188.98 for both the carbon fiber engine fuse box cover and the carbon fiber gauge cluster, which included my 20% off sponsorship discount.

UPDATE: New Engine Modification Installed (9/24/2011)

C12 Carbon Components Carbon Fiber Engine Fuse Box Cover

I used the 3m double-sided provided and some additional double-sided tape I had laying around and I heated the double-sided tape up using a blow dryer. Everything fit perfectly and snug w/ no issues.

Did you order the gauge cluster off of Meng? I ordered a set of carbon pillars off of ebay and they aren't the meng ones, looks like they are custom so I have to actually bolt them in, but I was wondering the quality of these because I have a few carbon goodies on my car already and some waiting to go on (PWJDM Carbon Cooling plate & Lip Spoiler, Center Console Lide and the Pillars) and the eBay ones don't look real nice like the Password Stuff.

Most of my CF mods have been ordered directly through C12 Carbon Components, plus the 20% off discount I was given. I have looked at PWJDM a few times and the Air Diversion Panel has had my interest for awhile now, may get it very soon. The Gauge Cluster will be coming from C12.

lol you know I went into the new section to intro myself and I saw that thead and I do kind of feel like an idiot now lol. But yea the cooling plate is dry carbon. I was just looking through the C12 list and I might upgrade to that triple gauge pillar set, I have to check out the pics when I get home...can't see them now at work :/

I have the gauge cluster from C12. It looks freaking amazing but you do need to know about the limitations of these CF components from C12 or anybody. They are not a direct bolt-on replacement. The engine bay cover is actually a shell to place over the OEM ABS plastic one. It can be easily modded to replace but that takes some doing on your (the customer's) part. The CF gauge does not snap into place on the dash. It is going to require the use of double-sided 3M trim tape. It is just too difficult to make a CF or fiberglass part that can match the complex intricacies of a molded plastic part. C12 does, however, attempt to do this but I find that it is not truly adequate. If I can find my camera, I will show you what I am talking about.

Scott, that cover looks great and I am sorely tempted to get one now. Is that your HID ballast in the pict? That thing is big.

So the ballast output is 50W instead of the standard 35W?

According to what my buddy just txted me, the ballast consumption is 32W. I am also currently working w/ a member on CStC.com on building me a set of retro-fit headlights for my 06 Scion tC. He feels he can get his hands on a set of 2008-2010 Scion tC Headlights and do the retro-fit in just the low beams. I rarely use my high beams as it is, so if this deal goes though and he can make everything, I will have a one-of-a-kind set up.

Retrofit how? I too use my highs rarely. I prefer to keep the non-HID bulbs in. The color contrast between those and the HIDs provide for better visibility.

Looks like a lot of work and expense when you can just get the '08+ projectors. You can still do LED and Halo mods to them. My worn out Eagle eyes (crappy projectors) are going to get reworked soon as I don't have the capital to get the '08s.

I can totally understand and respect that for sure. I am considering hitting up a website that Mengsta gave me for retro-fit headlights, I know its not going to be cheap by any means, but I want a one-off retro-fit using 08-10 Scion tC head light assemblies w/ Acura TSX projectors as well as using HID's.
