    Default In addition to Headers.

    Hi everyone,

I was looking to start saving for a few mods. I already have a Injen CAI and a TRD exhaust.
I was thinking of putting in some headers eventually. Before i move on to that step i had a few questions.

If i purchase a header which one would be a good one to get?

When i do get a header, is that ll i would need to get and get it installed or because of putting in a header there are other things i need to do to make sure the car runs smoothly?

Just dont want any surprises when I'm ready to get it and burst my bubble. Id rather save up for it and get it done. Just wondering if there is any other hidden cost i may have.

    Thanks
    ~S

You will want to invest in a new S-pipe. This is the single largest restriction of exhaust flow in the tC.

I would highly recommend these headers:

    1) Weapon-R 4-2-1, comes w/ the down-pipe
    2) DC Sport 4-1
    3) Strup 4-1
    4) DME 4-1
    5) Alphawerks

The Weapon-R header will come w/ the down-pipe, all the other headers do not, so if you do need to buy a down-pipe, my suggestion would be to buy an Invidia Down-Pipe, which I have and the down pipe is the most restrictive part of the exhaust.. You will also need to buy a Check Engine Light Eliminator (Strup or Weapon-R) makes them and they work very well and will prevent you from getting a CEL. Another suggestion would be to invest in an after market resonator (Moroso Spiral Flow).

Lastly, I would give Jet-Hot a call and have your header jet-coated. Most headers come either in ceramic coating or stainless steel. The benefits of jet-coating is cooler engine temps, and show quality. Ceramic coatings don't last all that long where jet-coating is fully guaranteed for as long as you own the header, if for any chance the coating peels, flakes, cracks, or discolors, jet-hot will fix the problem at no cost to you.
