the light just means there is something weird going on in your engine and you should "Check Engine"
Look on some other Scion forums and you can find some fixes to the CEL. Try searching for "anti-fouler".
Actually, PTuning warned me about the fact that if you swap the headers out, you have to cover up the sensor because the computer detects that it isn't the stock headers or something like that. It's just some common thing that happens. I would recommend getting it diagnosed first and then trying to get rid of the check engine light. If you go to the dealer, they charge money to run the diagnostic. However, if you go to Advanced Auto Parts or Auto Zone, just ask if you can use their diagnostic which is an OBDII for the tC. That is a free service and then write down the error code before resetting it.

Ok, but if you don't do anything to correct the problem, the light is not going to stay off for very long. That's why Weapon-R's headers come with an S-Pipe and a CEL eliminator....

Now, why would you want to search other forums when we have it all right here?http://www.club-tc.com/forums/engine...event-mil.html We even have that search button thingy for those so inclined. I got my feelers hurt.

Hmm i havnt read the past pages, so i dont know if you decided on wether to get it or not. But my opinion on the tsudo is its bad. Half the time you might get bad fitment and the other half, you might be lucky. Dont get the item just because its cheap. Just be smart and buy something that is worth the hard earned cash.
I had the tsudo and sold the axleback for a tanabe. Im still running the midpipe, but that alone is terrible, the fitment sucks.
I didn't like the Tsudo sound. It was way too nasal like for me. I ended up getting a Precision Muffler axle back. Worth every penny and it sounds great (they use a Magnaflow muffler).
It wasn't too loud but once I installed the MMW header it definately had some bark.
As for the engine light the MMW came with an anti fouler. I never had an issue with my light come on.
I should post up the audio of the car. It is a nice low (not obnoxious) rumble.
It does sound a lot like this.

Just to clear the air up on this one. You know me, I have to explain everything.
"Covering up" the Bank1Sensor2 Heated Oxygen Sensor (aka O2 narrowband) is not a correct description of correcting an HOS related MIL from a header swap. When you remove the primary catalytic converter, your are changing the amount of O2 in the exhaust stream. The catalytic converter strips the Nitrogen from NOx (generic term for oxides of Nitrogen) and leaves free O2. This O2 combines with unspent hydrocarbons from the combustion process to complete their transformation to less toxic components. The fix is to pull the O2 sensor out of the direct exhaust stream. In doing so, it skews its' detection of oxygen so that it does not believe the car is running lean.

What header did you get?
The Weapon R header is the ONLY one that comes with a CEL eliminator. I have it, and no problems. It works GREAT.
You CAN buy this from MMW separately for around $50, but I am not sure if it can fit with other headers.
You can also fabricate something similar yourself.
Maybe I should have listened better. There was too much going on around me, especially since my friend was trying to buy something for her Jetta and I was cracked out on coffee and lack of sleep. However, I clearly remember something about if headers are involved (don't ask me if he said installed or replaced or any particular detail) and then the O2 sensor goes off, a way to trip it so the check engine light stays off is putting electrical tape over that particular O2 sensor. I'll ask my friend again and actually pay attention to redeem myself!

I would just spend the extra money and get the Weapon R MMW one. The CEL eliminator alone makes it a wise choice, even if it weren't for the performance, the bad ass sound, and the fact that it comes with an S pipe.
I def love mine.
If it helps at all, when I shopped around and got mine, I found it the cheapest from these guys:
http://www.erzperformance.com/product_p/953-116-104.htm
$446.00
Compare that to the $600.00 it is listed for on the Weapon R website.
If you're lucky they may go on sale again. I got my header with S pipe and anti fouler for $375 shipped. It was too good to pass up...
You never know, it could happen again.
