    Default headers

so i've been researching headers for a 07 tc and i was just wondering if anyone had the megan racing header. i guess questions are how it performs and whether or not it triggers that dredded check engine light because of the single cat delete.

From my understanding any header will throw an engine light. MMW header is the only one that comes with an anti-foul part.

Do not buy Megan headers! They are cheap, Chinese made junk. Go with Weapon-R.

Please read the stickies in this Section. This has been much discussed. Also, stay away from Megan (also discussed) as their product is shotty with poor quality (China).

I don't want to buy new headers for sound reasons; also the annoying CEL. If I remove the heat shield from the stock header, will that cause any problems? I'm not sure if the heat gaurd thing is to protect us form touching the header, or if it protects the engine bay from the heat from the header.

No, removing the heat shield will not cause any big issues.

No problems. The heat shield is there for both of those reasons. Plus the stock exhaust manifold is UGLY.
