Default Need Help with my Megan Race Headers

Hey everyone, I am new to the club-tc forum. I have a 2006 scion tc and a few months ago i installed a set of megan 4-1 headers. The thing is that the headers make my car way to loud and raspy, could this be because I havent put an o2 sensor on it yet? or do i just need to switch back to my stock headers. Will the o2 sensor calm the noise down?

    Welcome to the club.

First of all, you will find no love for Megan on this site.

Second of all, 4-1 headers will kill alot of your low-end torque.

Lastly, any header put on a tC will make it loud and raspy. There is no way around it without adding resonators. The O2 sensor has nothing to do with that. If you want to quiet it down, reinstall the stock headers.

Why do you not have your O2 sensor installed?

Yes, why no sensor installed? that is not good.

And get a large resonator welded onto your midpipe and a high quality axleback. You'll have a nice controlled sounding car.

I personally have the tanabe medallion touring with only 14 inches of resonator and my car sounds near stock! But I have a 4-2-1 header which always seems to sound lower than 4-1. For you I'd recommend going witha 30 inch.
