    Default Magnaflow Cat back

I am currently considering a magnaflow cat back system. I have heard one before and liked how it sounded. the only thing I am concerned with though is cabin noise. I don't want get a cat back that will prevent me from having a conversation with the person next to me or listening to my stereo (stock system). Does anyone have any experience with this exhaust system?

The magnaflow is pretty much like the TRD. That's what I have and it's not that loud at all. I don't have any problems with talking or listening to the radio.

ive heard magnaflows on domestic cars and they sound awsome but never on our tC's and if they sound like Red says they do compared to the TRD exhaust that i used to have on my 06 tC then i might consider getting a magnaflow

sweet. that's what I was hoping for. Did you get a decent gain (for exhaust) after you installed it. was there any noticeable difference in the car ( aside from the noise) lol.

Keep in mind that the Magnaflow will sound great as long as you are still running the stock headers. After you add headers, you will have ALOT of rasp and will need to change out resonators.

so even if I go to 4-2-1 headers, not 4-1's with the magnaflow I will still have to do resonators?

Well, think of it like this. All parts on the car were made to work in unison from the factory. Once you start adding modifications to the car, those parts no longer work in unison. The primary cat, secondary cat, resonator, and muffler all work as on from the manufacturer. The catalytic converters do muffle and change the sound of the exhaust. Which is why with any header, you will get rasp. No matter what kind it is, you will need to change the resonator if you want to eliminate the raspiness.

That makes sense. Resonators cost what, 50 bucks a pop? and just have a shop put one in the mid pipe for starters and see if that tones down the rasp and if not go back and put another one in? Sorry if I am ignorant . I am a bit new to the whole tuner scene.

Most resonators will be about $150 a piece
