This is a discussion on Scion tc performance headers within the Exhaust forums, part of the Scion tC category; ...
true that!
i called my dyno guy, he found a bunch on ebay. (i dont usually buy stuff on ebay but... for small stuff its alright). anyway i bought one $8.95 plus $5 for shipping. its a mechanical O2 simulator/MIL eliminator (not a cheap resistor) it should be here next week.
the only thing left on my exhaust is my stock mid-pipe. i am debating whether or not its worth removing. i mean, i need at least 1 cat on the car to be legal, and i think the stock midpipe has some sort of resonator on it to help deaden some of the sound.... i mean, it cant be THAT restrictive, im not running forced induction or anything. i think it should be fine.
ryan
True on the mid-pipe. If your not blowing you don't need to open the exhaust all the way up. You would too much torque on the low end and for a NA that is not a way to go.

so is the over all consensus that the monster moterworks...."wepon-r" header is the best to go with ...?
Absolutely. The 2.4L motor works great with a 4-2-1 set up and they are the only company that manufactures a true 4-2-1 design in stainless steel. I took them over to my local dyno shop to make sure they were high quality, and as I was taking them out of the car, he said "Yep! Those are good alright! I can tell already." They are a perfect fit, the welds are excellent, they LOOK kick ass, AND they come with an S-Pipe. I ordered mine from JSC Speed: Your Source for Performance Parts, they retail them there for $650, BUT if you look on weapon-r's page they retail them for $600, so I told JSC and they said they would match it no problem.
The only other thing you'll NEED is a CEL eliminator, also called an "O2 simulator". I got mine on ebay from user jcsmith23 for about $8.00.
You MIGHT end up stripping the downstream O2 sensor during the removal of the stock s-pipe (I did), this is common (but it sucks) so be prepared to buy a new downstream O2 sensor from toyota, they run about $120.
I installed my headers about a month ago and they absolutely ROCK. They sound great, not too loud, and a good aggressive sound, and NO check engine lights! (so i will pass inspection). The power increase was dramatic about 15-20 at the wheels, easily. I have the TRD intake and exhaust, a lightweight pulley, and the weapon-r headers, and im about 190hp all-motor. Definitely a noticeable increase, well worth the extra cash!![]()
ohh k , is there anyother place to get a 02 simulator besides ebay?, and if ur careful can u save the downstream O2 sensor?
try using Google Product Search .. its google but for making purchaces on any item .. go to that site .. type in "Scion tC O2 simulators" and prices along with available web-sites will appear .. i'm goin FULL Megan head .. dp .. drift spec. cat back.

Draxas makes a full exhaust for our cars. From the header, to the exhaust tip. They are the ONLY ones ive seen include a high flow cat in their mid pipe so you can maintain legality.
But everyone forgets bout them....

I wasn't talking about how the search works, I was talking about the full Megan set up.

dude man.....as long as the PIPE is bigger...U'll go faster....more exhaust FLOWs...so it doesn't matter about brand names.....it's like shoes....Nike Adidas, and PAyless hahaa...shoes are shoes...just better rubber last longer right haha.
hey guys looking for the anti fouls, go to your local autozone and for $3 you have it. Spark Plug Anti-Foul's they are 18mm HELP! brand Part#42002 or 42009 ( just give autozone one of the part numbers and they will find it for you)
all you do is drill a 1/2" hole into one of the fouls, the 2 fouls screw into eachother which then screws into the S-pipe. Then you screw the o2 sensor into the anti-foul and your set!
here is a link that has pictures, it shows how to install the dc 4-1 header then at the bottom it shows how to install the anti-foul's. hope this helps: ScionLife View topic - DC Sports Header installation [Scion tC]
what way to the track

Wait a minute there Pardner, we already got you covered on that topic here at Club-tC. You need look no further, but we do appreciate the info.
And to elaborate on what MkhoiD said: Bigger is not always better. There is a science to exhaust dynamics. May not be exact (too many variables), but nonetheless, a proven formula to extracting more power from an engine thru efficiency. A pipe is not a pipe when you look at the material used, diameter, wall thickness, bends, obstructions, burrs, and length. I won't go into detail in this as it has been discussed before in other threads. Things to consider when choosing a header on the tC are 4-1/4-2-1 designs, whether you are N/A or S/C, equal length tubes, how low does it hang, and whether you are keeping the stock mid-pipe. Backpressure plays a bigger role on the positive side for N/A and the TRD than is generally understood. Turbos are completely different animals in terms of exhaust design.
