Easiest thing would be to get the MMW S pipe like redneck says.
Just to clear things here, you don't have to change the s-pipe for the MIL (CEL) trick. The s-pipe has the Bank1Sensor2 Narrowband HOS that gets incorrect readings. The A/FR Bank1Sensor1 needs not be altered as it reads directly on the exhaust runners. If you changed it, your car would probably go into Fail-Safe Mode. Changing the s-pipe is recommended for better exhaust gas flow.

So If I'm planning on getting the TRD S/C later on down the road, is the MMW-R 4-2-1 header cause any fitting complications/performance issues?

Fits perfectly. I have it myself and a friend and I put it on ourselves. No problems at all. Performance is great. Adds a bit of power freeing up air flow.

So to eliminate the CEL all you have to do is do the antifoul trick in the S-pipe but, does it allow you to pass emissions as well or does it just turn off the light on the dash?

Honestly, I think that depends on how your state tests for it.

If they just plug into your cars ECU, you'll be fine.

Some states actually require a visual inspection, in which case, they'll see the header and etc and give you hassle about it.

Illinois only requires a test every 3 years that is just plug in and run a dyno, set you on your way. As long as your check engine light is not on in cases like that, you'll pass.

Take the heatshield from your OEM header and afix it upon your aftermarket header. Might just fool them. You could also use Jedi mind tricks, "This is not the cat-less header that your looking for".

    LOL, that's hilarious.

But seriously, that's a really good idea. The shield I mean. Not the Jedi mind tricks LOL.

Back in the old days, we used a surrogate car. This worked great if you had a highly moddified off-road only vehicle. A surrogate is a car that matches the make/model of your car and is either bone stock or still within legal parameters for inspection. You would take your plates (back then the registration was a tag on the rear plate) from your hotrod and transfer it to your surrogate. You would spray silicon onto the inside of the windshield where the inspection sticker went. That way, the new inspection sticker was easier to remove and then place onto your real ride. Silicon spray was transparent and not easily wiped off when the inspector removed the old sticker. Once the surrogate was inspected, everything went back to the old car. Being the same make/model and hopefully close in year, the VIN registered on the back of the sticker was easily smudged, faded, and penned to look like the correct VIN. Of course, it was much easier to find a buddy at a gas station to ignore the inspection and give you a sticker.

Now, the records showed a different VIN registered but that did not matter, because way back when everything was paper copy. With the advent of OBDII reading, VIN being placed all over the vehicle, and everything electronic, this scam will not work anymore so dont even try it. I never thought of myself as a bad boy, a rebel; just a problem solver.

not really sure how the borla and dc sounds, but i have MMR true 4-2-1 with s-pipe and apexi world sport and it came to life. that being said.. borlas aren't known for being quiet and my headers doubled my noise.. so i was a little dissapointed, but i like mine quiet.

the sensors are easy if you know what u are doing... first off: the sensor in the header is NOT an O2 sensor... its an air/fule sensor. thus causing problems when you put an O2 sensor in its place. 2nd: the O2 sensor that causes problems in on the s-pipe.. so you don't swap it you'll be fine (but i recomend you do, its a big help). if you do change the s-pipe you can either buy a CEL-eliminator or make on. I went to adavanced auto part and made one for $1.00. all you need is a few sensor anit-foulers and google instructions to put it together.
