Safe to run 9psi without mods to your 7psi trd kit??

Seriously considering on buying a trd supercharger kit and buying a 9psi or 9.5psi pulley for a little extra horsepower, but i am not sure how everything will hold up and if the car will need to be tuned again by upping to 2psi. I realize you already get your ecu reflashed and bigger injectors and some other goodies but i was hoping i could put the other pulley on and just go without another tune, but that may not be the case. Any comments back would be great.

i asked the same question. 9.5 psi is fine but if you go over 10 you will probabnly wanna buy a piggyback or some kind of programable ecu upgrade. you are completely safe with 9.5 no upgrades are needed.

All true. All you need is the pulley and a new belt. Pull the 7A ECM fuse for a few minutes to reset the ECM. Give it about 30-50 miles to relearn and profile the map accordingly. I found that running a quality 89 octane worked the best for tool'n around. For racing I just added Lucas' Octane Booster or you could run 93 Octane.

Yes. The ECM is calibrated off the TRD maps which are set for 7PSI. Removing the fuse (temporarily) causes these calbration tables to Null (resests). Since this is a learning ECM, it will adjust fuel/ignition trims and adjust the VVT-i to match the higher PSI. Doing this takes full advantage of your upgrades. This is also why a piggy back is not needed till above 10PSI. Above this, the TRD maps are inadequate for the baseline.

Do you remember the Dealership telling you that you would have to drive around for about 100 miles before getting on it?

O yes my other question was weather or not you pull the fuse when the car is at idle??

NO NO NO! Do it with the key OFF. Wait about 5 mins and reinstall the fuse. Fill up with 89 or 93 Octane (no octane boost) and drive your car around for about 50 miles. No hot rodding, just normal driving. After that you should be good to go.

i have read that i had to pull the "EFI" fuse ( fuse #14)which is a 20A fuse to reset the ECU. i just want to make sure that im pulling the correct fues to reset the ECU. dont want to do the battery thing b/c im just too lazy to fix the roof,window and my audio settings.

You only need to disconnect the negative battery terminal for a few seconds. No pulling of fuses is necessary. You should disconnect it anytime you work on your car anyway.

i know about the battery thing but like i said i just dont want to reset everything.

Nope, the 20A EFI only disconnects power to the injector circuits. The 7A ECM controls power to the memory processor circuits of the ECM. Removing the power from this circuit for 10-20 seconds will reset the non volatile memory allowing the ECM to relearn.
