yes but even though it reaches max boost earlier with a smaller pully, even if boost doesnt increase after that, the speed of the blower still will increase with the rpm's all the way to redline... how fast can you spin the trd blower before pushing it over the edge? and how much hotter will that make the intake charge? the trd kit is not intercooled is it? hot intake charge is breeding ground for detonation.

again, i dont know **** about the tC or the trd kit for the most part so correct me if needed.

There is a way to have max boost early. You can run a high boost pulley with a external wastegate. Only issue would be, the max pulley is 14PSI. So you would be running say 7PSI constant and bleeding after that. So why not just run 14 PSI?

I think the blower is rated to 18 PSI, or is it 22? I forget.

No it is not cooled. Water/meth has been the best way of doing. Intercoolers are dropping 2 psi just from the charge pipes.
A barrel cooler would work. I had a spearco water/meth kit.

Another option is changing the trim of the kit. Someone on another forum SUPPOSEDLY did, but wouldnt talk about it. So I doubt he did.

  1. You can't change the trim as per Vortech
  2. The max RPM of the impeller is 60K
  3. Max theoretical boost is 20PSI
  4. The max small diameter pulley will net you 14.5PSI (mathematically)
  5. The adiabatic efficiency can be raised slightly by polishing the impeller housing (inside)

There are a few other options out there that have yet to be explored outside of my head.
  • Electricmotive induction
  • 2 stage pulley (A few WWII fighters had 2 stage S/C)

do you guys have any way to monitor intake temps pre and post blower?

IAT located on the MAF can be read by any OBD-II scanner. There are many companies that offer Air temp gauges like PLX Devices. You could use a liquid temp gauge, but it won't be as accurate and slow resolution.

so only the sensor on the maf? no sensor post blower? im just curiouse of the intake temp thats actually going into the motor.

There is no sensor already in place to monitor charged air temps. But you could easily install an intake temp gauge. Autometer makes one.

I have an EGT guage to measure exhuast temps. It would be cool to know charge temps to compare them.

id be more interested in the difference in temps after going through the blower, im not familiar with centrifugal blowers and was wondering how much heat they make. im curiouse why the TRD kit is not intercooled, and i would guess that the blower doesnt create much heat so theres no need.

is anybody here running water/meth injection?

I ran water/meth for a few months. I had the spearco kit. But I had issues with my supercharger and went back to stock. I was at 9.5 PSI. Never turned the boost up higher.
The issues were not due to the pulley or meth kit or anything else.

I highly recomend the spearco kit tho. has a really nice window switch that can be tuned off of throttle position (WOT) or off of boost levels. I had mine tuned to wot. The tC is fine at 9.5 PSI with the supercharger. Temps arent hurting anything. So I just used the meth kit to give me the cold air when i was really getting on it. (wot)
I had planned on going to 14 PSI. But after blowing a supercharger. And this being my only ride, I had to make sure everything was ok under warranty.

About to do just that; 14.5PSI and Snow Performance water/meth. It won't be much till I get Kenny to tune off it.

The was a company that offered a dual-zone AIT gauge just for monitoring before and after temps.
