im looking at the 65mm Overdrive SC Pulley from NST and the site said:
"NOTE: NST02065 SC Pulley NOT intended for use without TRD ECU Reflash."
does this mean that i have to reflash the ECU again if i get the pulley or am i good to go with the reflash from when they installed the S/C ?

Some people installed their own S/C in the early days were not able to get their ECM reflashed w/ the TRD maps. The cars ran OK w/o those maps at the stock 7PSI, but they were underpowered due to the ECM not being tuned for the oversized injectors. The TRD reflash (that comes w/ the S/C) is stable up to 10PSI, but that is the limit. Most pullies are 9-9.5PSI. As long as you are remapped and have a properly installed S/C, then you will be fine to run that pulley.

I have the 14.5PSI pulley from NST, as well as, the h20, and overdrive Alt pullies. The only way to run the 14.5PSI pulley is with an external e-manage, 550cc injectors, and high-volume fuel pump. Also, some type of I/C setup will be required.

sounds good. how many hp/whp will the 2.5psi add and is there any problems in the long run to the motor?

No probs. I run 89 Octane gas. 10WHP per 1PSI is the general rule

89 is ok b/c the s/c manual say to run 93 and how does whp translate to hp? sorry for so many Qs.

The manual states 93 octane because not all blends of gasoline are the same, ie cheap crap and a premium grade. This way you are covered if you buy el cheapo gasoline that is not blended good or has contaminents that cause a lower octane number. My car has a better exhaust and intake, so my engine runs a little more efficient than when it was blowing with stock components.

HP is a relative measurement for work done by something. Engines are tested 3 ways and are as follows:
1. BHP (Brake Horse Power) - This is also known as HP at the flywheel. It is strictly the ouput of the engine itself minus any accessories, drivetrain, and exhaust system and is measured on an engine dyno.
2. WHP (Wheel Horse Power) - This is a measurement of the total output of the engine thru the drivetrain with all of the accessories on the engine to the wheels. This is a more accurate degree of the output power of your motor/tranny combination as a whole. It is measured on a 2-wheel or 4-wheel dyno.
3.BDHP (Butt Determined Horse Power) - This is a factual measurement take by the seat of the pants. Although, a marked increase in torque and HP figures will translate in an exponential increase in the BDHP, most are rather inaccurate readings. Numerous BDHP readings are skewed towards the tester's eagerness for his/her ride gaining performance after the install of speculative components. A common example would be the jubilant glee that one has after installing their Turbonator!

Note: To measure the total overall performance of the entire vehicle would require a 4-wheel dyno in a wind tunnel.

ok so i got the pulley new for 80 with the belt and now i want to know is it hard to DYI ihave never done this before. can any shop do it or should i go somewhere that know about s/c?

The crank pulley is a breeze. DIY indeed. It can be screwed up (install) but very hard to do. If you have any common sense, then you can accomplish this. If you run into any trouble, we are here to help you out. You just need to run down to NAPA or Autozone and rent a torque wrench. I will try to find my directions and post them for you.

Only if it is the direct cause of the problem. Just don't throw it away. If you have any problems, then you can easily re-install it. The dealership would never be the wiser.

That is always advisable but not required.

OK. Sorry about that. Here are the torque specs for the OEM. Should be the same for the LW. I will post procedures later today.

so i installed the pulley today and didnt really feel the difference in pull as to the stock s/c pulley. guess 2.5 lbs isnt that much of a difference.

Did you reset your ECM? Did you drive it about 50 miles with less than spirited driving? Do you have the correct belt on (no slip). The big difference is going to be felt in the upper RPM range.

didnt rest the ECU and dont think the belt is slipping( what are the signs of belt slipage)?
i do feel that 5th gear picks up faster in speed. i'll try to drive alittle more "spirited"..lol
