With the turbonetics turbo, not much.

Many turbos on various other 4 banger applications can run ~20 pounds of boost and still do fine with an internally housed wastegate.

Outside of that, without running a bigger turbo, an external wastegate wont be a "bang for the buck" modification at all.

You're boosted, so you should really pay attention to the BC Camshafts that they're coming out with soon. Navy posted a link on the performance forum. Apparently they're being designed for turbo applications.

272/272 Cam profile on a boosted tC would make VVT-I VERY interesting. Not to mention an extended redline.

No, it just manages turbulence better. WHen you're running high intake/exhaust pressures, the internal wastegate is no longer sufficient in managing all that turbulence.

Until you're in the 400whp range, an external wastegate really is irrelevant.

Just wait for the cams, trust me, aggressive cams are one of those mods that few people know about, but if you've felt it.... oh wow. That's all I can say.
