Sleeper Intercooler

Hey all, got a question that can cause discussion! I have an 06 Special Edition with the metal grill) and want to hide my intercooler behind it. What i want to do is make it black. I've seen a few that you can buy, but i want to know if anyone knows if you can paint it without affecting the function of the intercooler. i've read that you can VERY LIGHTLY use duplicolor anodized spray paint. does anyone have experience in this area.

either way i will post pics of the most stealth turbo kit ever put on a tC.

i read something similar on a search thru another forum. they were really torn on the idea tho questioning whether or not it would affect its function.

one person recommended engine enamel

another says heat proof paint and dont forget to a give the intercooler a light rough up with a wire brush or green scotch pad and then wipe with prepsol

another says anodized black paint

another forum had a few suggestions...

someone mentioned SCC did a piece on sleepers and they dyno'd before and after painting the IC showing no effects in performance...

u can paint ur intercooler
simple spray paint could do the trick
light coats tho .. im sure a heavy coat will cause blockage
anodizing is the best route tho

kinda wanted to but it was already mounted on
now im glad i didn't .. it looks great like that IMO
