I'm confused. Doesn't the other stuff (all the mods) make a difference on how the ECM should be mapped?

Or is it just a liability thing where they don't want to map it for you if you have all the mods...

The TRD map is a specific map tuned only for a completely stock setup and the TRD S/C as it comes in the kit. Fortunately, there is room for expansion with the ability of the ECM to adapt. Adaptation has its limits as in boost levels and octane. At this point, a piggyback controller is required. Can you run a piggyback on the standard TRD setup and make gains. You bet, but those gains won't seem like much until you start modding.

    Ah, I got ya'.

Then why would Sparks tell me I could send them my ECM and TRD Module for mapping at first, and then when I inquired again asking him if all the mods mattered, he told me they could not do the mapping?

That seems really odd to me. Sounds like I'd be okay having Sparks or the dealer do the ECM/Module mapping and then just have a piggyback for the mods. So why would he tell me he could not do it after saying he could?

That is exactly what any Dealer will do. If they have knowledge that you are breaking the warranty on the S/C or changing the emissions by mods, then they are culpable if anything goes wrong. TRD warranty only continues if the S/C kit is left intact. That includes the pulley, fuel injectors, intake, and ECM mappings. Just go to another Dealership, tell them you need your ECM upgraded with the TRD module, and play Oberfeldwebel (Master Sergeant) Shultz; "I know nothing! I know nothing!"

Man, I feel so dumb now! LOL.

Thanx for clearing that up for me.
