I heard that turbos could shorten the life span of your engine cause of all the stress it puts on. but what if you forged all your internals, and then turbo would it be reliable like a supercharger or still too much stress, and does anyone know how much it is to forge internals? cause paying $3k+ for 200whp just seems a little low. oh and that and i have an auto, what is the powerband for turbos, around what rpm do you get alot of boost and whens it stop. Thanks |

I would go supercharge I did and I love it. By changing out the sc pulley you can get the same boost out of it like a turbo. By the way turbo lag... its not too bad but I seen some spull up at 2000 and some at 2500 and you wont get full boost untill your up in the 3's. But all turbos are different so Im not sure. The s/c will make the engine last alot longer!!! Im at 7 psi now but Im changing out the pulley to 9.5psi and I think that is more than some stock turbo kits for the tc I think. And if im driving normal I can stay out of boost therefore less stress on the engine. Also remember turbo puts off lotssss of heat! And everyone knows that heat for a engine and horsepower is Bad. Tell me what one u decide to go with

well probably going to get supercharger since its more reliable, but it probably wont be for years, im just gonna get fujita cai and magnaflow catback for now then start saving for supercharger. and about changing your pulley wouldnt that void the TRD's supercharger warranty. i heard youre not allowed to change anything from the supercharger.

That is true. Drive it for a year, then change it. Maybe if your lucky, the idiots won't install the tamper proof cap on it like they did mine. If you install yourself, who cares.

Run an oil cooler for better oil life. Also, if you install the TRD yourself, you get a 12month warranty. That is why I said a year. If it ain't busted in a year, your good to go. Now, all we need is rebuild/refresh kits. TRD won't do it and Vortech can't help us contracturally. It is going to be on us to come up with a kit.

650CC is way overkill and will just flood your enign with fuel at WOT. Stick with the stock TRD 450CC that came with your S/C.
A good oil cooler will run you from $90 -150. I bought mine online for $125.00 |
