Default Vac Line Question For Gagues

Alright before I used the vac line that's near the throttle but when I had my boost gauge in that line, that valve pressure unit or whatever it was caused my vac needle to jump like crazy. i heard that there was another one, something with the brake vac line or something i dont know, does anyone know or have pics so i can get a good idea so I can tap into that line? Thanks

just a moment and I will have something for you. That "valve pressure unit" is actually the Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) for the fuel vapor purge canister. Tapping into the vacuum line next to it will cause a jumpy needle as it switches on and off. You could just tap into that line at the TB and alleviate most of that. The brake vacuum booster line would work also, but be very careful on your install. You would not want the connection to fail and loose vacuum to your booster.

alright thanks I appreciate it. Do you have your gauge into the same line and have the same problem or no? I just wish it was simple like the older cars lol

well i put the turbo kit in, 2nd day I was driving it on the highway and while I was in boost the pipe came off from the intercooler to the turbo so there was nothing but air coming out of that. the car would only move at 20mph and i was pushing it but not trying to but I had to get off the highway. after driving it like that for a while a cel came on. come to find out later i messed up the solenoid lock-up, something that has to do with the shifting of the tranny and i think the guy said the torque converter or some lock-up. so that went in the shop yesterday, hopin to get it back today or tomorrow and then put the kit back in on the weekend.

Good luck. You should look into upgrading your I/C pipe connectors amd clamps to more sturdy units.
