    Default can s/c and turbo...

    i was just woundering if you can put an supercharge and a turbo in an car. if you can what do you need to do to make it happen?

    It is called twin charging and AIT did one already. Look for it in the current edition of Modified Magazine. It produced dismal results for the cost and complexity. This is nothing new. World War II Pursuit Fighters were often twin charged to allow to maintain performance at lower altitudes as they did at higher ones.

    Here is the AIT one for sale:

    As some of you have seen, Gojira, our Twin Charge TC project, is currently on the cover of Modified Magazine, Dec. 2007 issue. This was Modified Mag's SEMA issue, which was a fantastic accomplishment for us. The TC was on display in our booth, Auto-Tech Interiors.

    We've decided to put Gojira (JDM "Godzilla") up for sale and thought this would be the best place to let everyone know.

    You can read about it in Modified Magazine, which is on sale at major book stores now but here is a more complete list of what has been done to it. The TC last made 271whp and 280 ft.lb. torque on a MUSTANG Dyno but with a slipping disc. On a Dynojet, it should conservatively produce 300whp and 300ft.lb. torque. Also, with the new ACT clutch, we suspect the current result should be in the 315whp range.

    it can be done, over on the redline forums a couple guys have twincharged thier saturns... if you go to youtube or streetfire there are videos of em. search for "twincharged." an otherwise stock redline with the added turbo and an extra row of injectors made 369hp at the front wheels if i remember correctly.

    in my opinion though its really more for show than practicality or power. one type of power adder is much more efficiant and cost effective. it would be a ***** to tune too no doubt... and i wouldnt rely on that kind of set up for a daily driver, but it has been done.

    there used to be a guy with a supercharger/turbo/nitrous set up too that he called "triple charged" LOL

    like i said, its more for show and bragging rights than it is for power and practicality... a single turbo setup is much more efficient i would think. no doubt its cool as **** though.

    i read the artical last night and they said when they dynoed it the first time it was only doing 270 or so with the clutch slipping the they changed the clutch and now its at about 340 or something. but i think it can do much more than that. and also they stated the motor is still pretty much stock in some areas. i beleive thats what they said.

    must be moving with the tC engine .. the xB stock with it's own engine is only 101 HP
    thats horrible .. but since it's so light i guess it balances out .. i dunno jus sayin

    Guess that you haven't been keeping up with all things Scion! The 2008 xB is a different platform with a huge engine bay that houses a full 2AZ-FE tC powertrain.
