Hi, im new to this site. Im a tech for toyota the 2az-fe motor can handle alot of power the block is rated to 400+ horsepower due the cyclinder walls being iron with a plastic block guard(still tryin to figure out y its plastic) and aluminum outer shell. the head is beast like. the biggest problem is the rods kinda suck but if ur pushin those number u gonna do internals. after that u basically need better head gasket and clutch

What do you mean specifically by "building" the motor?

New internals? New head? Change to the block?

I'm seriously confused when people say "build the motor" details please!

as far a i kno the 2az-fe block sleeved can only handle like 500-600 hp.
as for building the motor most likely when you build the motor u get stronger rods and pistons, do head work like valves and valve springs and such, sleeve the block, stronger crankshaft and better camshafts. all this is kinda extreme on a tc though if u have the money to get the parts if avaliable
o and the tc drag car use the 4ag if i remember right which is a 2.7 from a tacoma but im for sure on the engine code or motor size but i think im right

    pistons
    connecting rods
    main and engine bearings
    bolts
    studs
    valve & springs
    gaskets
    etc.
    u get the basic idea

all the milage on ur motor wont matter it may last up to 10 billion miles
depending on how u take care of it of course

its the same things but ur basically puting new ones plus there much stronger
the pistons are at a different compression ratio either for boost or for N/A

The Jotech Motorsports Q-Scion drag car runs the 2.7L block and is wicked fast in the high 7's. Kenny won't tell me the HP numbers though.
Jotech took their built 2AZ-FE block to 739WHP in the Nitto tC (same that posted 533WHP in 2005) running about 27~30+ PSI of boost. It is sleeved, new rods/pistons (not sure about Compression), mild head work, custom intake manifold, and Motech (AEM?) standalone.

haha i say we all just sell everything we own except our tCs and we put every dollar into our car, this way we'll all be running 700+ whp tC's. we'll make a dynasty.
