Default s/c or turbo for the cost

so i just got a 2006 scion tc in black sand and i love it. BUT i want it to be significantly faster. i know a turbo makes more power than a supercharger, and i know you can run more boost on a turbo "safely". The thing is, a greddy turbo kit is about 3000, and the turbonetics kit is about 6000! now thats a lot of money. so my question is, would it be cheaper to install a TRD supercharger kit, and then upgrade the pulley to run more boost? i know i would have to upgrade internals to make that possible, so what would be the best way to go?

I'm not an expert in this field but from what I have read and heard it would be more reliable to run the s/c if it's your daily driver since it is made specifically for the car and can come as an option then that would be your safest bet.

yeaa, that sounds about right, and ive heard of people hitting 300whp with a upsercharger, but thats with 14.5 pounds of boost, which i would have to change some of my internals, which is probably the pistons and such. but thanks.

Ah yes the great debate. Read up on it stickied here http://www.club-tc.com/forums/forced...ercharger.html

BTW... More boost is safer on S/C not turbo apps. It is all about how the boost is being made. The TRD can boost up to 10PSI w/ no piggyback or internal work and not kill your motor. A turbo setup has to have a piggyback and good tuning on boost over 6PSI. It's all in the sticky.

TRD S/C $1850 TRD Toyota/Scion Parts Accessories from Sparks Toyota/Scion
    9, 9.5, or 10PSI pulley about $100.
