if your doing that high of boost i would. otherwise your forcing warm air into your car cause the turbines in them would be creating so much friction and making it warm. an intercooler only does it cool the air going to the engine. colder air means more you can compress the air and add fuel more of that equals more power. but thats what i have been told and i may be wrong.

With a S/C you would be better off running a water/meth injection setup because the intercooler is going to take away about 2PSI. With the turbo you can compensate for the PSI loss so go with the intercooler, or water/meth or both. You don't need an intercooler, but it would be better as Butters explained.

Snow Performance. The AEM one is just a relabeled Snow Performance. FJO out of Canada makes one that integrates into their stand alone ECU but it is very pricey. I have the SP Stage II for MAF. I am in the process of installing it now. SP's website has a good article on the workings/benefit of a H2O/Meth system.

stage 3 will not get your friend 310whp... it might get him close to 300 with the 50 shot and high octane mode, but even in high octane mode without the juice he wont see more than 270, and he wont have a/c LOL. GM stage 3 is weak sauce.

the 08 cobalts are gonna be ****ing NAZTEEE!!!

they have the LNF, Ecotec 2.0 turbo direct injection. 260/260 hp/tq stock. brembo's up front. So far its pulled the fastest road course times in its class, even beating its awd competitors.

thats crazy. i love coblats, but all around, the scion tC is a much nicer car. interior/exterior wins every time. cobalts feel cheap, and the leather seats are garbage. just a pocket rocket

I too love cobalts, but i would have to agree, when it comes to quality of interior materials and whatnot, the scion has it beat by a long shot....

BUT, imho stock for stock, the 2AZ-FE doesnt have **** on the Ecotec 2.0 LSJ s/c, and deff aint got **** on LNF. swap the s/c out with a turbo setup on the LSJ, and its capable of damn near 400whp on stock internals... iv seen 390whp out of an otherwise stock LSJ with just the turbo swap and exhaust. the stock axles didnt last long though. Take that with a grain of salt though, ill be the first to admit im an Ecotec fanboy. LOL

I read somewere that the Cobalt SS S/C was to be discontinued. Guess this might be the reason why. They maybe feeling the pressure from the tC's that are making a name for themselves on the road coarses. They must have maxed out the potential of the S/C on their racer. I was suprised to see a S/C on the Cobalt in the first place since the Ecotech was designed for a turbo. Oh well, I hope to get my S/C setup on the track soon to dial-in my new suspension and tires when they get installed.

they are discontinuing the s/c ss because they are coming out with a turbo one that make 60hp/60 lb ft torque more than the s/c. the turbo puts out a lot more power, and supposedle just a couple of bolt ons bring them right into the 12's. not sure about how accurate that is but thats what ive heard. another car that is quick but is UGLY is the caliber srt4. front end is nice but rear end looks like it got beat in with a baseball bat.

the turbo cobalts coming out the second quarter of 08 will have the same 2.0 turbo/direct injection Ecotec thats in the saturn sky redline, and the solstice gtp. that motor is off the chain!!! im upset that GM has no plans to drop it into the new Saturn Astra, to make an Astra Redline. Those new Astra's are really nice imo, they supposidly are also out handling everything in thier class b/c GM didnt touch the suspension in an attempt to bring it to US market as quick as possible. Its a rebadged Opel, its still got all the European specs, to bad is grossly underpowered and also the slowest car in its class with only 140 hp, only available in a 1.8l. in Europe you can get the Astra with like 7 different motors including 3 different turbo deisels.

The Caliber is ugly as ****, and handles like ****. its a decent straight line car though, and from what people have doen so far in the short time since thier release, they appear to take to modding as well as the neons did.

Yep. Toyo and company need to get off their butts and start producing some real off the shelf products. Ever since they absorbed TRD, the later has been lacking. I mean there is nothing out there for the new Camrys and the new '07 Tundras have not much of nothing either. Ford did the same thing to SVO when they bought them out. No more SVO turbo coupe T-Birds or Turbo 4 Mustangs. Bob at TRD did tell me that my 383HP 5.7L beast will be breathing easier sometime soon with a S/C setup!! Yipee!!!!!

imo i like the saturn aura. a lot of people dislike them but i think it would be cool if they threw a bigger more powerful motor in that. i dont think they do. kind of like how they put a hemi in a jeep grande cherokee, and a hemi in the jeep commander. some people like luxary but speed/power at the same time. i dont think they are doing this because they probably wouldnt sell too well. but i do like the aura. good looking car.

the aura xr, is no slouch, it runs 14's stock... for a car that big thats not bad imo. it also has the nicest interior i have ever seen in a domestic, its really nice and high quality. GM stepped it up on that one.

i was reffering to the astra, not the aura though. both are really nice cars.
