You looking for general advice? The best advice is to plan everything out. This will keep the pitfalls that will occur when you just start slapping parts together. Plan, plan, plan. Research your parts and know what they are capable of. You will also need to think about hardware, fitment, and consumables.

Default i guess i am looking for do's and don'ts really

i have looked a lot and stuff and narrowed it down i can give a list but i guess i am looking more along the lines of suggestions or maybe does or don't that would help me form messing things up. I guess maybe i am looking for things that don't work and things that do. what parts have proven to be not as good as thought. but if you would like a list if that could help in guiding me in any way i can. i just want to do it right the first time. i know about what i am looking for though i want to be at 300 whp or a little better.

Post your list. We can start there. Looking for 300WHP, better add a turbo kit to your list.

Default here is the list so far

So here is the list so far of what i am thinking may be good.
The greddy turbo kit without fuel manangement, i am thinking about going with the aem instead, 9:1 compression turbo pistons by JE, Carrillo connecting rods just not sure if i should do A or H beam, supertech dual springs for the valves, Agency power light weight crank pulley, i already have the agency power exhaust on and injen cold air intake, the exedy stage 2 clutch and light fly wheel are in my closet waiting to be put in.i am trying to decide if porting and polishing the head is going to help me enough to do it, the engine will have to be bored and i am trying to find the best sleeves for it. For the suspension i want to get the hotchkis tvs kit and front and rear strut tower tie bars, the Stop Tech stage 2 brake kit cause i really don't feeling like flying into a tree cause the brakes won't stop me fast enough. I also added the boost cooler system you mentioned for the super charger on another thread as a possiblity as well. I am working on what i should do to widen my stance so i can keep to the road and lay the power down so i don't waste my tires from smoking them the whole time. As for most of the stuff i mentioned it can be found on Killer tC: Scion tC Performance Parts. i am getting an engine from another tc so i don't have to worry about lots of down time. so that is not an issue.

Contact Tony Cheung or Kenny Tran @ Jotech Motorsports 972-278-9744. They are experts when it comes to building FI motors. They also have a ton of experience with Toyota products including the 2AZ-FE. I would definitely talk it over with them.

You could run the meth injection system in conjunction with an FMIC. Kenny is not a fan of them simply cause they carry a limited supply of meth juice and could lean out the motor if the tank is dry. That is why you have to have one with a built-in controller that has an output to run to your stand alone/piggyback/boost controller. No juice then it pulls the timing and drops the boost. That is what I have and also putting in a reserve tank w/ indicator. First tank goes dry then it has a 2 quart reserve that will last a tank full of gas. It only works on WOT so all you have to do is keep your foot from crashing hard on that gas pedal.

As for A/H beam rods, I would go with the lighter setup if your not looking at going over 300WHP or shooting NOS. tC's regularly are driving on the streets boosting to 300WHP on the stock rods. It is the Piston Ring Lands that will go first so a tough set of slugs are key. Porting and polishing is always good thing to look at when building a motor. Only problem is that till you begin boosting or run a large profile cam, the gains are minimal. This should be left to a professional who can either CNC or at the least has a bench test flowmeter.

Looks as if your going to be boosting so you will need an exhaust to match. If for sure it will be a turbo, then 3" high-flow exhaust is key. If S/C then stay with 2.5" highflow exhaust.
