Default New to Scions. Gonna turbo soon. Which one?

Hey guys, I've been into DSM's for about 10 years. I'm all about FAST....

I'm going to turbo a Tc soon, like 2 weeks. Before I order I would like some feedback about which kit is the best to buy.

I've been surfing and checking out the T-netics kit, that comes with the unichip.

I've also seen the Greedy kit, but u need to order the e-manage seperately.

I want the most I can get for my money. I know we are talking in the 4-5k range
    here,.

Maybe someone has put one of these on their cars, and can let me know if it was easy, hard, ect.

    Thanks for the space..

    Lonnie

I'm leaning alittle towards the Greddy kit, cause of emissions. And with the E-M-ultimate, and 440's its $3700. Seems like the best kit , unless someone can tell me other wise.

I looked at the zpi kit, but it uses a smaller 16g right. Thats even more wheelspin. Thats why i like the T-netics, cause of the 50-trim.

But the T-netics is w/o a cat. Thats no good where I am in Ohio.

That business is dead and alot of bad blood between previous customers and the former owners. Read all you want about it on SL. We prefer not to discuss that here.

You can talk to Kenny Tran at Jotech 972-278-9744. He has a vast knowledge of the pros and cons of different turbos, kits, and emangement. They have been boosting tC's since the beginng. It's race season so try to call him during the week.

From what I understand, there are some limitations in stepping up the performance in a few of these kits. Also, Unichip requires an authorized tuner or be sent in for any changes in your maps.

I talked to Kenny earlier today.

He said to go with the greddy kit, and come June 1, the price is going up.

Right now its 2300, + 900 for emanage and 44o's.

So for 3200, its a deal.

Hello, I am also new to this whole turbo gig and I have a 2008 turbo. You can of course get the official turbo for $3200 at an authorized dealer, but it seems some after market tuners are better for the money. please answer these questions:

    1) how much worse will my mileage be?

    2) does the kit come with the cold air intake and sport muffler too?

    3) does this void my warranty?

    4) can anyone install it or do I need a licensed machanic?

    5) lastly, what kind of realistic performance upgrade can I expect to see??

    6) i have an automatic. Does that llimit me?

    7) with the kits that you suggest, would I have enough HP to beat a Porchse Boxer S?

    Thanks!!!

Actually for #7 you will give it a run in a straight line. They have about 275whp. If you get the right turbo and the right tune you can achieve 300whp (my goal as well) Which should be enough to win. Take it to the curves.... not a chance.

You tuned DSM's?! I'm a scion owner and curious why you'd go to a tC.

I'd stay within the 4g63 family, but other than that, I'd go with the Dezod turbo kit.

You would be suprised what these tC's can do in the twisties with the right suspension mods. The 2 professionally raced tC's hitting the circuits are kicking some butt.

Oh I dont doubt the tC or his driving at all but in the end He would have to spend a lot of money to make his tC handle really well. Its still RWD Porsche as well. But anything could happen.
