A supercharger will be cheaper in the long run, is of less hassle maintaining (imo), & you can retain the balance of the factory warranty when installed at the dealer.

With a proper turbo kit, you'll want the extras to go along with it to make it run properly & let it run at its full potential. Things like turbo timer, new tuneable ecu, etc.

A basic turbo kit could run you $3-$6k, depending on brand & stage. Plus the add ons can easily reach that mark as well.

If you shop around, you can find the s/c for about $2-3000 (3 is on the high side) and it comes with everything you need. Making more power with it is as simple as changing the pulley. You prolly won't need the ecu as long as you don't try and run a teeny tiny pulley.

I'll post more as I think of it. Its late and I'm tired.

Did you read the sticky in this Section? It goes into detail on this. TRD S/C kits are down to $1800+ for '05~'06 models. You can safely run a max of 10PSI from a pulley change w/o the need for a piggyback and make around 220WHP.

IMO If you really want the power just got turbo. I'm taking my S/C off because Im sick of it not giving me the power I want. I also just like turbs better haha. But if youre on a budget, or want to keep your warranty by all means the S/C is for you.

okay, so im getting my military bonus this november because i just completed basic training and ait for the army and im going to s/c my car cuz its cheaper, and i dont feel like spend a million dollars on the constant retuning of my car to get it the way i want. a simple s/c with a smaller pulley will do just fine for right now more reliable too

Yep, turbo is the way you want to go for the ultimate power. If you had money to blow, you could build a 2.7L N/A stroker making probably up to 250WHP. I am about ready to dump my TRD for a Rotrex S/C for a better setup, but not till I make atleast 300WHP with that darn thing.
