    Default A/T and F/I

back in October I bought the '09 tC with automatic transmission. When I first got it, I had no intentions to do any performance maintenance to it... Well I changed my mind. I've been looking at the TRD Supercharger and the Dezod S1 Turbo, and really been asking myself the question if it will have any repercussions on the A/T if I were to get one of these. Should I get a new tranny, and try selling the A/T? Should I stick with the A/T, due to the crappy ratios on the top end of the M/T? or possibly just hold off til the '10 and trade in? Really don't know looking for a second opinion.

There are MANY auto tC's with turbos. Swapping an auto for a manual is no small task. Just make sure you get a good tune, and you'll be set.

Some competent Toyota performance shops have changed out the clutchpacks, re-worked the valve body, and change the stall speed on the converter with some success. No Turbo 350, but it will do. You can also look into Cryo processing the input shaft, pump gears, and various parts for added strength. A tranny cooler is a must.
