I am giong to Turbo my tC and I was wondering among the different turbo kits out there which ones I should stay way from and what ones are good. Cost is a factor here.I know gong forced induction is not cheep, but what kits are good for the money.

I've always been partial to Dezod.

custom FTW if you know what the hell your doing. If not go dezod, turbo toyotas, or p-tuning.
Dont EVER boost on a budget.

I wish I didn't have to boost on a budget but I can only spend so much. Btw, do all turbo kits require fuel management or will the TRD flash upgrade suffice. Furthermore, I am asumming I should stay away from JDM turbo kits..lol.
you absolutely NEED engine management. That is why you dont boost on budget. Before you boost have at least $8-10G's incase anything goes wrong. Also get people who know what the hell theyre doing to install it. Please. I dont want to say I told you so to one more person who thinks the can run 7lbs on a used ZPI kit with cracks in the manifold, not intercooler, no management, piece of **** turbo, any or all of the above.
Good luck

Thanks man , that is what I needed to know. I have alot of saving to do before I am going to turbo it then. I would rather not put a crappy set up on the car. I have found a greddy turbo kit though that comes with an emanage for about 3400. I think I may try to pursue that. I just need to do a bit more research to figure out if that would be adequate. I mean its all new and comes with an intercooler and what not.
Im not a fan of the greddy kit.

Is there any reason in particular why you aren't fond of it.. Is something wrong with it??
I dont like the set up, the manifold, the turbo used, or the fuel management.

Trust his judgement on this. He knows what he is talking about. I think he was in that movie 'Boost Master'.Another wise man once told me it is better to spend the money upfront than it is to spend the extra money to repair/replace a blown motor.

Being that my baby is a State away and I have no real place to work on her, I am not sure what I am going to do. My goal was to have my final phase project completed and dyno'd before I start converting her to dedicated track duty with a street attitude. With all the personal issues going on right now that is preventing my move back to Texas, I am falling way behind the curve. Now I have a fully built motor capable of up to 900HP (with supporting bolt ons) that I don't know what to do with. It currently adorns Jotech's new showroom floor as a display model. I am really pressing hard for a Rotrex S/C and dump the TRD.

navy, not to thread jack, but my buddy and I were wondering. How much power do you think you can get out of an N/A 2AZ Engine. No spray. He says 300 is around the limit, bu I say If one had the money, the sky would be the limit. List of things I would do?
Stroker kit
11-1 pistons
I/H/E
Ported Throttle body from descendant
nice tuning
Pulleys
No interrior
Anything big I'm missing?

Leslie Armendariz runs a 2AZ-FE N/A that makes atleast 400WHP. Of course her tC is a ground-up chassis build and the motor has atleast $15K in it.
Head work and cams are were you are going to make your most power at. BC not only has stroker kit, but full upgrade valve train and 1mm oversized valves. The 11.0:1 compression ratio and C16 race fuel is really going make that top end huff. A purpose built intake manifold with a larger TB is going to be key for searching the top of the HP curve. BC's N/A cams are not aggressive enough so you would have to get your own set of bumpsticks reground to build the power band where you want it. Let's not forget about the header. If you are going for all out drag, then you will just run a turned up, short header and need to calculate out the runner length to match the exhaust pulses with the RPM where your torque and HP curves meet (cross-over point). For street or road coarse racing, a 4-2-1 with properly designed runner lengths and collector size to promote exhaust scavaging in your optimum torque curve.
A larger, return fueling system and upgraded ignition are a must for max power. Time for a standalone like Motec. Shedding weight from the rotating assembly should be carefully considered. Removing the balance shafts on the OEM crank cause it to flex according to Kenny Tran which robs HP. Not sure if the stroker crank from BC has same issue. Knife-edge the crank cuts down on not only windage (friction losses) but removes weight from the crank. Using LW rods and pistons are also options. There are several companies that offer specialty coatings that cut down friction even further. Plumbing your fuel thru a fuel chiller can also gain you some points by allowing more advanced ignition timing.
