supercharge...

This is a discussion on supercharge... within the Forced Induction forums, part of the Scion tC category; anyone know if there are any other super charges for the tC besides TRD? i was just wondering and started ...

    Default supercharge...

    anyone know if there are any other super charges for the tC besides TRD? i was just wondering and started looking online and every time its just the TRD and then it switches to turbo.

    To the best of my knowledge, TRD is the only one that developed/manufactured a supercharged application. The TRD superchargers are no longer made, due to bearings failing and possibly other issues. You can still find some online that are used or rebuilt, and may still have a warranty.

    You can rebuild it with better bearings like I did mine. I have been trying to get my hands on a Rotrex S/C but no luck.

    ok so i found a TRD one that is still being sold so is it jus the bearings that i need to get? if so what kind? and how much did you spend? i was going to go turbo but it seems like theres more you have t spend if i get turbo opposed to S/C

    where an i find one for an automatic transmission cause i just got done reading the whole thing and its for manual trans

    ok so after doing a little research the trd supercharger works for both manual and automatic but for the automatic you need to get a dipstick relocator which cost $120 replacement cost im not sure but just an FYI in case anyone didnt know

    I am not sure what the differences between the 2 kits. I think that the compressor mounting bracket is different also. I will get back to you on the bearings for a rebuild.
