I'm not going to even pretend I know anything about cars, because I know nothing about them, But i have a good friend who does, big into street racing and drifting... He told me he'd help me get into the racing world and help me work on my car, but first i'm trying to get some insight on what i should do to it.
I'm not trying to go for the freakin' first place trophy right away, just looking to get my foot in the door right now
some info on my car
2007 Scion tC, automatic not a stick, stock engine 161 hp
I want it to go faster that
i keep hearing alot about cool air intakes
also about turbo kits for automatic cars
and something about a supercharger
i sound really lost and stupid but thats why im on here, to get some info
anything helps
thanks..

We all started at zero with our knowledge of autos at one point in time. What type of racing are you looking at doing? A car setup for road racing won't necessarily be suited for drag racing and vice versa. Having automatic will make the learning curve alot easier but it can take you only so far. There are limitations on how much torque it can handle and the gearing does not make for good drag launches. I have never raced one thru the twisties so I am not sure how suited the auto is for that. Cadence is our more authoritarian source on the U241E autos. There just aren;t any parts to upgrade the trans , nor is there a limited slip option. When the time comes and your skill level is proficient enough, you might consider picking up a used tC with the E350 manual to make as a dedicated track car.
