Default Thinking about finding a used s/c

I've been thinking about finding a used s/c for my tc but they are becoming harder and harder to find. Since I was planning on tearing apart the s/c and rebuilding it I was thinking about getting this one. TRD SUPERCHARGER FOR A SCION TC | eBay The auction is almost over but I know he'll repost it since he's been trying to sell it for a while. My only concern is it is going to be really hard to find all of the other parts I need if all he has is what is shown in the picture. I messaged him to see what else comes with it.

I guess my biggest question is, does a lot of the stuff needed cross over to other parts? I work in a auto parts store so that's no problem or will I just end up spending the money I would on a turbo kit anyways getting everything ready? I would rather go turbo but it's so hard to do any reliable tuning to the tc.

This subject I would refer to Navylife59, he has the TRD S/C and knows a lot about these. Best of luck in your quest!

$500 is not a bad price if all the associated parts are there and in working order. Do you know what year the kit was intended for? Just too many variables plus it is used. Better off going turbo at this point with the parts becoming scarce. Save it for someone that already has the TRD kit and needs parts.

I would agree with Navylife that looking for a used SC is highly risky. As you can see from the attached Scion installation procedure, there's a lot involved.....and the parts list is extensive. Beyond that, if there was on its original installation any lubrication problems with the bearings, you may find you've wasted your money....or will have to invest more to try to get it working correctly.

Key points: the injectors and ECM map module are other things that may or may not be good and proper.
