    Default fuel/injector controller

    ok heres a question for anyone who can answer correctly, and knowledgeably. I have a Fuel/ injector controller by AEM, and i was wondering if i was to get bigger fuel injectors with it alllow more fuel to my engine without waisting gas? My engine is all natural and im building power without forced induction. If anyone knows id greatly appreciate it.

    Motors are air engines, so for max efficiency, the work in has to equal the work out as close as possible. There has to be a balance of fuel to the engine's ability to pump the oxidizer (air). Without increasing the engine's ability to do work (pump more air), adding more fuel will actually lower engine efficiency, thusly, power output. In order to increase a N/A engine's ability to do work, you would have to do any of or combination of the following:
    * Raise compression
    * Increased, more aggressive cam profiles
    * Port flow work on the intake runners of the head
    * Combustion chamber swirl polish and valve pocket optimization
    * Larger valves (only good with the above. Not good by itself)

    marren - fuel injection Can calculate max HP for injector size. At some point, fuel rail pressure will need to increase with demand. There is some headroom in the stock injectors before they reach saturation. Once the above machine work has been accomplished, you can then step up to 440cc injectors. If you throw in larger injectors without the ECM knowing about it, each injection cycle will be based on the stock injector, thus, extra gas will be injected. Piggyback controllers can resolve this but be forewarned. Beyond this, all they really can control on our ECM is to alter fuel trims at WOT and to a smaller extent, partial throttle. No ignition alteration will be accepted by the ECM. Without advancing timing, adding fuel will net little. It is the same for all piggybacks, regardless.
