    Default Oil Change

    Written by: Alex8181

    Difficulty (1-5): 1
    Time Frame: 20 Minutes

Most people should already be aware of how to do this but here is the process anyways.

Step 1: First jack up the car from the front. Use the highlighted bracket below to lift the car.

Step 2: Use jackstands to support the car by placing them on the side supports. It is extremely important to use jackstands.

Step 3: Use a 14mm wrench to remove the oil drain bolt. I like to remove it by hand once it is loosened. Push the bolt into the oil pan as you're unscrewing it. Then when it is completley unscrewed, remove the bolt in a quick motion. This will reduce amount of oil that you'll get on yourself.

Step 4: The oil filter is right next to the oil pan, towards the front bumper.

Step 5: Remove the oil cap.

Step 6: Wait for all the oil to drain out. Put the oil drain bolt back in and tighten to 30 ft. lbs.

Step 7: Before putting in the new oil filter, lubricate the rubber O-ring on the oil filter.

Step 8: Fill the engine with 3.8 quarts of oil.

Step 9: Start the engine for 10 seconds and than turn it off. Check for any leaks underneath the car.

Step 10: If ther are no leaks than lower the car and you're done.
