has anyone gotten this to work on an 07???? ive tried and cant get it to work... you have to turn the key to the on position to get the screen to show anything, not the acc like it states. when you turn it to the on position while holding the button the odo setting shows all lines and flashes in a count down pattern, when its done it shows all 0's then shows normal... is it different on a n 07/ can it be done on an 07!?!!??!
Difficulty (1-5): 1 Time Frame: 2 Minutes Although I do believe the seatbelt warning is a great feature for those who forget to put on their seatbelt (of which I know several who do), it gets annoying real quick when temporarily take off the seatbelt. Once you have thoroughly warned anyone that may remotely use your car to put on their seatbelt, use this procedure to turn off that beep. Step 1: First make sure the "lifetime" odometer reading is on and not Trip A or B. Than put the key in the ignition. While holding down the odometer button, turn the key to "ACC" Step 2: Hold the odometer button for about 10 seconds. Step 3: Than click the seatbelt into place while still holding the odometer button. Step 4: The odometer reading should change to read "B-OFF". |

found a more detailed write up on scion life, im gona go try it and will let you know...
It can be turned off. 1.) Power on (ignition on will do) 2.) Set trip/ODO to ODO (if its already on ODO you will have to cycle through) 3.) Power off 4.) Power on w/brake on 5.) (Within 6 seconds), press and hold the ODO for 10 seconds or more 6.) While STILL holding the ODO *after 10 seconds*, buckle BOTH seatbelts. Now release the ODO 7.) You will see in the trip display either a "b on" or "b off" 8.) Press the ODO to toggle between "b on" or b off" YOU WANT "b off" 9.) Now power off. |

lol, thanks clayton, but no. its my vehicle, if i dont want to wear my seat belt, i wont. i can see times when that jingle can get annoying for a normal person too though... but the fact of the matter is. if your gona have a how-to, at least let it give the correct information. so either fix it, or remove it....

[rant:]OK, I'll be that guy....because I am: It is not your choice (unless you line in New Hampshire). When you are in a wreck (whether it's your fault or not) and sustain serious injuries my (and everyone else's) insurance rates are effected. If you had just worn your f'n seatbelt, you would have walked away with a few scratches and our premiums wouldn't climb.[/rant]

Take Defensive Driving course. It is a statistical fact that most injury/death related vehicular accidents, involving no seatbelt use, occurs on short trips near the victims homes. It is also a proving statistical fact that a driver, when not properly belted, can loose control of the vehicle and cause injury/death to others.
The latter I have personally seen. A good ole boy lost control of his truck on the ice, fish-tailed, then disappeared from the front seat. After the truck careened out-of-control cutting across lanes of on-coming traffic and running into a brick wall, the driver popped his head up from the passenger floorboard. He had that, "How the heck did I end up over here?" look.

That is fine for you, but what about the other people that you may involve in the accident? I personally had to fly to an African country and bring home a fallen Sailor. He was riding in the back seat w/o a seat belt when the vehicle swerved to miss a potential IED and lost control hitting a pole. He was ejected from the back seat straight thru the windshield. He would have survived with a seatbelt. Also, anything that you have loose in your hatch area, say a subwoofer enclosure, could take your head-off in a severe stop.
Just food for thought.

I get what you are saying but what i do has little to no bearing on what passengers do if they are in my vehicle. They do as they wish unless it is a minor then they must wear a seat belt. I cannot nor will i dictate to annyone how they should live their life. If i choose not to wear a belt so be it. If someone else makes that decision based on their experience then thats fine too. I wont be responsible for being the big brother to everyone.
