Default Just ordered my new car, but ??

I live in Atlanta, my parents live in West VA and they are the ones buying the car. We just ordered my 07 csm tc with ipod radio and pedestal spoiler from a dealer in WV ( i have to drive up there next weekend to get it). They are having to go get the car from another dealer which does not currently have the ipod radio in it or the pedestal spoiler (which I know they can easily ad) But my question is about the ipod capable radio that they said they have to add when it comes in, it seems that this process is more difficult that just switching the head unit since they have to run the ipod serial cable to the center console. They only charged us $260 (as listed online) for this upgrade while several othe dealers said it would cost $500+ to have this insalled because of the difficulty. Anyone had any experience with this, are we going to run into problems?

Cliff notes: ordered car without ipod capable radio, dealer is installing ipod capable radio when it comes in. Will this be a problem for them?

So simple is the install, you granny could do it. Correct me if I am wrong here guys, BIB the head units are the same; IPOD capable vs Non-capable. It is just the harness as you said. Everyone on here can tell you that it is a breeze to remove the console and you just have to remove only the top portion.

All Scion parts should cost the same. The labor is where the Dealer rakes it in.

well see, one dealer is telling me that it would cost $500+ because they ahve to change the stock head unit to the pioneer head unit (with the two knobs that changes colors, etc...) and run a new wire to the center console that will accept the ipod serial cable that is included so that i can leave the ipod in the center console and control it with the head unit. While the other dealer is telling me, no prob. it is simple and we are only going to charge you $260 for the upgraded head unit, etc that has the ipod interface (of course this is the dealer we have ordered from)

edit: btw i see you said the head unit will be the same, i am looking for the upgraded pioneer head unit that changes colors and has the two knobs (one for vol, and the other for controlling the ipod and it may have other features too)

Yes, it is in the center armrest glove box. Does anyone ever drive with gloves anymore? That is a throw-back to the open horseless carriage days.
