Default Did you get your stock parts back?

I am patiently waiting to pick up my 07 TC tonight. My question for you all is (as a newbie to the forum... i couldn't find this posted anywhere else), i got the TRD exhaust when i bought the car (yeah yeah, shoulda bought it after i bought the car, but don't have the cash to finance it). Will I get the stock exhaust back? I'm thinking since i spent the $$ on the stock car, i should get the stock parts back after they install the TRD parts.

Has anyone run into a situation where the dealer kept your stock parts?

Thanks!
Kevin

If they don't give it to you... ask them for it. You paid for both, so they are both yours! I always ask for the stock parts back.... that way I know the work was done. Obviously, this won't be an issue with an exhaust system.

Yeah, I figured. I just didn't want to be ripped off. Plus if i don't like the sound of it, then i can switch back.

Any comments on the sound? I heard it on youtube and it sounded a bit ricy... have you heard it in person?

Thanks!

The TRD exhaust sounds nice, its actually pretty quiet at cruising speed but when you give it gas its got a nice deep tone to it, and its not as ricey as you would think.

Hey, thanks for the info on the sound. They are packaging up all of my stock parts, so I'm good on that. Sale guy said it would be done "Monday, Tuesday at the latest." He would keep me informed.... haven't heard anything as of 1pm yesterday and he hasn't responded to my message i left yesterday at 5ish...

I am not a satisfied customer.... i just want my damn car! I'm in Xmas eve purgatory here.

Also got the TRD springs, struts & front tie bar too. You have those installed too?

Not yet anyway, I would like to get all that stuff eventually, just need to save up a bit first but those are some things that I would like to do in the near future.

Yeah, i'm coming from a Mazda RX-8, so i found the stock handling a little soft for me. Hopefully the suspension upgrades go a long way to make it a more sporty ride. plus, even though you loose a little money paying dealer prices, you get the warranty and you can also finance the parts in with the vehicle, which was beneficial for me.

if you have to finance an exaust system, you should look at a cheaper car.

Hey, thanks for piping up there chief! Much appreciated.

What you might not understand is that financing a car improves your credit rating, and at 3% interest, you're actually better off financially by making payments (it's pretty much the best kind of debt for your credit other than a mortgage). You then put the money you would have used for the exhaust (or downpayment etc) into a Roth IRA or money market. You'll make more than the interest of the loan. Simple economics my friend.

how did you get a 3% interest rate? I have a very high credit score and they gave me the Tier 1 interest rate of 6.69% according to the Scion book!

3 year loan through the company I work for. It gets taken out of my paycheck every 2 weeks. Similiar bonuses like $ for first home buyers, free grad school, free daycare, onsite gym, cafeteria etc. Benefits of working for a huge company.

Kinda like a capital one blank check. of course if i leave the company i'm kinda screwed, but i'm not going anywhere so i'm not worried.

It's friggin sick quite frankly. We were in the 100 best companies to work for up until a year ago (according to fortune). SEI Investments. Don't know why we fell off though... haven't noticed a difference to me. No offices, all our desks are on wheels and we have "pythons" that come out of the ceiling and hook on our desks for internet access and power. And a wonderful Herman Miller chair for everybody. Lots of wacky artwork on the walls. Campus is 50 acres of woods west of Philly PA. Nice place to work if i do say so myself

So I now have 300 miles on my TC and am loving every minute of it. AMAZING

I am not completely in love with the TRD exhaust yet... kinda sounds a little too much like a ricer, but then again it is a 4 banger so what should i expect?

I guess since i'm still breaking it in, i haven't had a chance to really appreciate it with the peddle floored or anything... i'll report back after my break in period. so far, so good though. Thanks for all the responses.

oops, forgot to mention that.

yep, got them all back in boxes... hindsight being 20/20, i really have no idea what i'm going to do with them... i suppose i could switch back to them once the others wear out... but where's the fun in that. I thought there'd be a market for it or something.... not really though.

You want them?
