Default Help please!

Hey everyone I have a problem with my TC. I just started noticing a fast clicking/flickering sound coming from my car when I am on the interstate. I think it is mostly prominate when I am going about 70-80 mph and my rpms are around 3.5 to 4. It gets softer when I let off the gas. Has anyone else heard this in their TC? I dont want to take it to the dealer cause I have aftermarket stuff on it. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Were do you think the sound is comeing from? did u run over any tree branches or any sticks check your rims to see if u dont have something caught up in there. look at all your belts to see if something is rubbing up on them. does it only happen when your on the interstate what about the streets? if your throp on it is that sound still there what about if your accelerat slowly? check your oil lvl. your car could be knocking. oh and check to see if something isnt lose on your car that could be ratteling around and makeing the noice.

I have looked in the engine bay and I didn't see anything weird there...no sticks, my belts look fine, my oil level is good, etc. I only notice it on the interstate when I am going between 70 to 90 mph....when the rpms are high. I don't hear anything when just driving down the street...but then again I am not driving as fast on the streets as I do on the interstate. I will check everything again today and see if I find anything lose.

ForBiddeN is right, check for loose exterior parts if it only happens at speed. Jack the car up with a good floor jack and use some solid jack stands, use some maintenance ramps, or get it up on a rack and give the underside a good look. If nothing, take it to the Dealership, it should be under warranty.

What will the dealership say when they see my intake, s-pipe, etc.? Thats why I don't want to take it to them...I'm afraid they will void my warranty.

No I don't have a front strut bar. It sounds like clicking in the engine but I just had my oil changed not too long ago, and I checked the level and it looks good. I have no idea what it is...

Put your OEM intake on and go to the dealer. Don't chance it. There was a small production of 2AZ-FE motors that had the wrong tolerance rod bearings installed that caused the rod to knock. This may manifest itself only under a loaad, aka driving.

Alright I got my car back from the dealer today..it turned out that the rubber gromet on my firewall came out and I was hearing what the dealer called "normal engine noise". But thanks to everyone for the advise!

Interesting. Our engines have noisy injectors. Thanks for the follow-up.
