You might also wanna run the upgraded harness just to be safe. Shoot luminics a email or call

I would not trust the Luminics bulbs without the upgraded harnesses. To many stories about them frying the stock ones. Instead of buying the bulbs AND harnesses, I just went to my local auto part store down the street and picked up some Silverstars that are safe for the stockies and I got a $5 rebate.

I'm just going to put my 2 cents in. If anyone has read my article on headlight bulbs (see below), you'll know my opinion on aftermarket bulbs. Back when I used to have a Honda I've gone through several bulb manufacturers from Piaa to Nokyas. I have a very low opinion on most aftermarket bulbs whether they were Japanese made or Korean, because of decrease in vision and low life span. There were two manufacturers that I did like and that was Syvania and Philips. Their lights provided an actual increase in light above stock but they were not hyperwhite like most people want. They were whiter but you could still see hints of yellow in there.
Now, just recently I recieved a set of Luminix hyperwhite bulbs for free from a friend. I was skeptical of these bulbs just because the glass was tinted quite blue, but hey they were free. I've had them in my car for appx. 6 months. Light output, I'd have to say (without any scientific methods) seem to be very close to stock, probably not as good but close. The lights are very white, which is what most people want. I've checked my harnesses and after 6 months they still seem to be okay. I have my lights on everytime I drive, even during the daytime because of the auto turn-off feature of the TC. This doesn't mean I am endorsing these bulbs, just my 2 cents. http://www.club-tc.com/forums/lighti...formation.html |

Thanks angelic. Now after reading Alex's posts I've also read around that these bulbs give trouble. Now im confused. ALex said there wasw a decrease in vision and thats what im mostly interested in. The site says they give a lot more, still confused.. The harness for the tc they say is 20 bucks prioity mail. then the bulbs for 50. so about 75 all together. Im just looking for an upgraded visual look for the car.. Now bebating wither to forget that or just go with silverstars. hmm....

It depends on what you're going for. If you want a whiter headlight, than yes it does its purpose, but if you want higher light output, It doesn't really matter because even though silverstars give a little more output, its pretty minimal. You can only do so much with the current halogen technology. If you want real light output, than I would just save for HID's. Again, this is only my opinion.

Hey Alex, Know anything On HIR's? I hear they give a great amount of lighting output. Much more then luminics/silverstars. So far from what I've been reading is that they need some type of trimming.. on the bulb but other then that its tough trying to find some pics or anymore info. Know anything? im going to go try some more google till I find some more info.

Your post made me do a quick article on bulb sizes. It's kinda ugly, but it'll do for now until I integrate grids into the article system.

On my Infinity I put after market blue bulb from Type R something I also bought the wiring. My bulbs kept burning out, the wire keep melting I lost track of how much $$$ I ended up spending. Not only on buying new blue bulbs, but I also had to buy new pigtails because my stock burned out.
So with my 07' tC I did my research and bough a 8000K HID kit and so far works great and extremely easy to install, in my opinion. Now, I have only had my HID’s for 2 weeks but from what I have read about HID it shouldn't give me any problems. I paid about 165 w/ shipping and expect no headaches. From: www.cqlighting.com I think, I can’t remember the link I don’t have it on hand.
