Default HID lights out.

I just bought an used '06 Scion tC. The previous owner had modded it quite a bit and it came with HID headlights. Yesterday as I was driving, the right (passenger side) headlight suddenly went out. I was able to get it working for a little bit by turning the headlights off and back on, but it would just go out after a while. I brought it to a Scion dealer (not the one I purchased the car from since I am now at school which is a 4-hour drive away) today and they said that there wasn't anything wrong with the lights. Just now as I turned on the ignition and switched on the headlights, I could not see the right headlight at all. I looked at it from the front of the car, and I was only able to see an extremely dim light coming from the right side if any at all. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I went to a auto shop today and they said that the problem was a broken bulb, but they don't have replacement bulbs. The problem now is that I bought the car with the HID lights already installed and I don't know which HID kit the previous owner used. Does anyone know how I can find out or which bulb I can buy? Thanks.

If I am not mistaken, HID bulbs only come in 3 styles; DS1, DS2, DS3. The problem is matching the Kelvin output (color hue). You will need to look at the ballasts and get the manufacturer info and go from there.

to be honest, i would just replace both bulbs, just because if one went out, the other one might too, and you dont want to just replace one bulb and then have the other one go out a week later. you can find some sets for a good price, just look around.
