I kinda made a dumb mistake tonight, I forgot that I had my car in first gear when I shut it off and was parked on a slight incline and also had the e-brake on and when I went to start it like I just stated forgot it was in first and the car lurched and stalled, I know this is a beginners mistake to stick shift but just wondering if this can cause any damage? I know its not good for it but is this one time going to hurt it?

It could handle a lot more than just one time. It will be fine. I used to do it all the time in my first car. It was a 1989 mazda 626, 12 years old when I got it.

The Owner's Manual clearly warns not to do push starts as it can damage your powertrain. This is basically the same. I tried to push start mine once. All it did was make a loud clang then stopped abruptly. bwood87 is right. You wil be OlK. just don't make a habit out of it.

I had to push start my civic a few times, had to get it at like a full sprint before it would kick over the engine when I popped out the clutch. Pain in the neck, but it worked.
