To sum it up, there is no room to baragain in your situation. Your only course of action is to sell outright the Ford. As a future tC owner (great optimism), you have to learn how to spell it. Stay away from the Spec pacakge. It is meant for people who will be converting the tC to a show/race car. For a daily street car, there is too much changed/removed for the savings, plus there is no sunroof. The RS package is a great upgrade costing about $1000 or so more. The 2008 RS model has not been released as of yet. Best of luck and welcome aboard to Club-tC.

i had that same problem once, but thank god for my family members. you're better off taking the hit now rather then later, becasue later you wont get any more than 5 dollars for your truck. i love ford trucks but they depreciate faster than a fat kid eats cake. so get rid of it now, and go for the tC. its probably the best car i will ever own. especially for the price.

WHOA there bro. I OWN the spec package. Something wrong with it? I walked out the dealer with 16,000 including taxes. Nothing really wrong with having no sunroofs. Yeah, two things that I didn't like having removed . . security that disables the car and cruise . . well, cruise control isn't all that necessary for me since I will never actually use it. I love to have control of my vehicle at ALL times. I've done a few things to it and I have to say I'm glad I got the spec package. My car is still a work in progress but one of the MOST important thing for me also is . . . I have the 2AZFE under the hood just like the rest of the tCs. It does weigh less than the regular tCs though. Add add-ons/bolt-ons and you'll have a pretty quick tC. Get CF hood and hatch you'll get a little bit quicker one even. Again, it's alllll about personalization and choice. |

That is the intention that Scion put into the Spec package; a no frills car to build out for show or race. Dealers maybe touting them as more cost effective purchases for fiscally tight buyers, but that is not the way Scion Corporate sees it. They just downgraded/did away with items that are normally replaced during customization. If it works for you, that is great. My point is just be knowledgable in the difference between the Spec, standard, and RS editions of the tC. Originally there was supposed to be only one trim package for the tC. Now there is 3, which is a good thing.

my boyfriend traded his 07 jeep in for a 2007 civic and he came out pretty good. he had the jeep for like 5 months and the gas mileage sucked and then he got the civic which is much better now.
