Default Upper Grill Romoval

has anyone removed their upper grill? I want to paint the chrome trim piece black and am obviously not doing it while it's on the car. I am really hoping I don't have to take the whole damn front of the car apart just to get the grill, but it appears that way. Any pointers?
Help please!
Thanks in advance

I'm looking at the back of the bumper and its held on by appx 6 screws on the top and sides. I'd have to say it's easiest to take out the bumper but I can't tell for sure. I have an article coming to take off the bumper, just need to upload the pictures. I'll try to have it on by tomorrow.

Edit: Available now here.

so nobody knows for sure. I removed all 6 screws and nothing happens, so I imagine the clips are left holding it together. 05-RS1, your bro's problems probably came from having to remove 20 clips at the same time with only two hands and without breaking them. Yoshi, it sounds like you have some good advice, but I can't understand one G*d D*mn word of it

lol sorry must off did it when i was super high didnt even check what i wrote.sorry for the confusin.okay on the back you will see ur clips from ur stock bumper all u need to do is us a flathead and jus give it a lil twist, do that to all off them and there u go its all popped off now to take of the chrome lip u jus unscrew the 6 screws and you will see basically the same consept of the clips u jus do the same process and u can pant or what ever u need too do too ur lip. i took my off cuz im am doing a custom grill for my whip might as well i had the bumper off anyways for my intake install. it was tricky but i found out how too make my own grizzill i bought some mesh from car boutique in schaumburg for about 80 dollars of aluminum rust proof mesh. costly but looks the best and not that cheap ****!!

OK the grill is attached to the bumber only by clips, the screws only hold the chrome trim to the grill, so you could acctually take out the grill without removing those screws, i had a tiny stubby flat screwdriver so it was a cinch!

The lower is the same. When I had my front fascia off to install my oil cooler, I removed to 2 small outer vent (fake) covers. I believe that they were just clipped on to.
