has anyone removed their upper grill? I want to paint the chrome trim piece black and am obviously not doing it while it's on the car. I am really hoping I don't have to take the whole damn front of the car apart just to get the grill, but it appears that way. Any pointers? Help please! Thanks in advance |

I'm looking at the back of the bumper and its held on by appx 6 screws on the top and sides. I'd have to say it's easiest to take out the bumper but I can't tell for sure. I have an article coming to take off the bumper, just need to upload the pictures. I'll try to have it on by tomorrow.

so nobody knows for sure. I removed all 6 screws and nothing happens, so I imagine the clips are left holding it together. 05-RS1, your bro's problems probably came from having to remove 20 clips at the same time with only two hands and without breaking them. Yoshi, it sounds like you have some good advice, but I can't understand one G*d D*mn word of it

OK the grill is attached to the bumber only by clips, the screws only hold the chrome trim to the grill, so you could acctually take out the grill without removing those screws, i had a tiny stubby flat screwdriver so it was a cinch!
