    Exclamation HELP...car starts, revs, and shuts off

    ok well my friend was wiring leds in his scion and somehow he crossed wires and shorted something...mabey in the security thing next to the scion steering wheel but now it starts revs to 2500 and shuts down....any ideas what it is

    Wiring is one thing I hate about working on cars.

    I don't know much about it, but your friend should first start back tracking all the wiring he did.

    if he can't find where he went wrong, then I wish you both luck. A cars electrical system is an expensive system to have repaired, and since he was messing with LEDs on his own, warranty won't cover it.

    Have it scanned for PID's (MIL codes). If nothing shows up, you will have to take to Dealership so they can connect their diagnostic computer to it. Can you post a pic showing exactly where you friend was working and, if possible, mark the exact circuit that shorted? I might be able to steer you in the right direction.
